Dak is not a Franchise QB

Dak is average. He has intangibles that make him a solid NFL quarterback. He is an average thrower of the football. He is not a special athlete like Cam. But let's chill. The good news is there is no way he gets that extension this offseason and he will get some real competition next training camp. Rison, Quest for six, Willie Beamen, and others will get there wish.
Solid NFL backup, nothing more.

Can't be, I was told that it's just because no wr he plays with can get separation. I've been saying this since last year, all these receivers didn't just lose "it" over night. Troubleshooting, if my my kitchen sink won't drain and I have no other issues with sinks, tubs or toilets draining then my problem lies with the kitchen sink. If my kitchen sink, toilets, tubs and other sinks won't drain then the problem is in the main drain line. Dak is the main drain.

He should have never thrown the ball. Then the recievers would never get blamed at all.

Same goes for Zeke . Other than his rookie year, not a franchise rb.

It's hard for great rbs on teams that don't have a competent passer. The reason is that teams will stack the box and I don't care who you are, a defense can stop anyone from running they just have to allocate resources to doing it. If the passing game doesn't make them pay then it's going to be a long day

Teams 'stacked' the box in 2016 when Zeke averaged 5.1 ypc.

By definition a franchise QB raises the level of a franchise from its current level to the next level and inspires teammates to the next level. In 2016 after a 4-12 2015 season, a rookie QB guided the team to a 13-3 record. He has been voted team captain each year after his rookie year. Record is 22-11 as a starter.

I saw a franchise QB without a go to WR, TE, and solid C go 1-15 his rookie year (0-8 as a starter) and the one win was with another QB as a starter. The next year they finished 7-9 with the franchise QB 7-7 as a starter. First 2 years as a starter the QB was 7-15. So I guess Troy Aikman was not a franchise QB? Yes. He was because the 1989 season of 0-8 as a starter improved to 7-7 as a starter and he was named team captain. The rest is Dynasty of the 90's history.

What the Cowboys do not have is a franchise Head Coach. That is the difference between Troy and Dak at this point.

Jimmy Johnson demoted David Shula when the Cowboys were at 3-7. They then went on a 4 game winning streak and the triplets were born vs. the LA Rams that 1990 season. What is Jason Garrett going to do with Linehan?

You build a team specifically catered to the run and give your RB 15 carries. This team doesnt even know what its identity is anymore.

They tried passing to loosen up the defense but you say how that worked. This offense is predicated on the "pick your poison" principle, with a competent passer, a #1 wr, a great oline and a great rb. If you load up to stop the run they'll beat your 1 on 1 coverage of the #1 wr, if you double that wr then they'll run it down your throat. We don't have a competent passer, we don't have a #1 wr, our oline isn't the same as 2016 so out running game isn't great so you get what we saw on Sunday.

Same story, different year. You can talk about the difference with Will McClay having a voice or his role in evaluation, but this is a Jones family operation. They have final say, and really the only say.

They’ll hype Prescott, just like say, a Jaylon Smith and that’s all it is hype. Cowboy players are ALWAYS overhyped, mainly by the Jones family hype machine. Just sick of it.

Outside of Zeke, Tank Lawrence, Martin, Frederick, the artist formerly known as Tyron Smith, and Sean Lee when he’s not in bubble wrap, the production and performance never lives up to the hype.

It’s a never ending cycle. Sick of it. Jerry will meet with everyone in January, talk about his failure, talk about how much he wants to win, talk about injuries, maybe fire some people, talk some more without saying anything, hire some lame *** new coach, and ultimately not a whole lot will change.

Yes, I know it’s week 1 and against my better judgement i’ll watch every week, but Anyone that thought this offense would work with the same coaches and the WORST WR/TE group in the league, is either delusional or a member of the Jones/Garrett family.

I've been a jury is out person regarding Dak. There was enough in his first 2 years to be positive and enough to be negative. I felt he would've learned from last year and handle the pressure better this year having gone through the last half of last year. What I saw on Sunday didn't look like he has and is. It's just one game and I'll defer judgement for a few more games, but the jury is getting closer to a condemn verdict.. At this point, he has to consistently prove he can handle the pressure before the jury will acquit, 1 or 2 games won't do it.

I feel exactly the same way. His slump is lasting too long to be dismissed at this point. I think he is capable of getting out of the rut he is in but in the NFL and especially with the Dallas Cowboys, your time to suck is short.

lol. Is Garrett using Zeke's body to perform?
Your lack of football acumen is astounding. It seems in your world, a RB can just gain huge yardage regardless of how the other 10 men on his team perform or how the 11 men on the other team perform. Yes 69 yards on 15 carries is absolutely garbage says PJTHEDOORS lol. BTW, Carolina did not allow one RB all of last year to gain 100 yards on them. I guess every single RB who played them was garbage according to you? SO yes, Zeke is not Barry Sanders, or Emmitt Smith, or Walter Payton or Jim Brown. But he is most certainly a franchise RB. You will see by year end just how good he is. If you choose to ignore that, than that is on you.

In my opinion its simple. Oline is not as good as it was in 2016,only 2 players from that year played Sunday. We are not going to be able to impose are will with the running game against these 8 and 9 man fronts. This is only first game and their was a lot of sloppy play in NFL games this week, more like preseason. But this is on Dak he has to be able to throw the ball downfield 20 30 yards and beat the one on one coverage or he is just going to end up being a back up in this league and we are in for another long season. Plus I don't want to hear this crap receivers are not separating,QBs have to to able to put the ball where it needs to be or where a receiver can go and get it.
