Skip wants Cowboys to lose the next 5 games

I think it is too early to tank .
I would try to win the next 2 games.( trying to win and losing is same thing as tanking lol)
If I lost the next 2 then go ahead and consider tanking.
If I won the next 2 then keep trying .
If I went 1-1 and looked good in the 1 loss, then I would keep trying for wash game.
lose that and might as well consider tanking.

Cowboys wont tank, the FO isnt smart enough.(remember the meaningless phil win that affected our draft position)
However the players appeared to give up in Tenn game, so they may decide the issue.

our div is pretty bad, so it is possible they could get back in the mix for winning the div, it depends on what wash and phil
do next few weeks.
And of course what happens in phil and wash games with dallas.

I dont see how dallas can win the next 2 games after what I saw in tenn game, but crazy things happen in nfl.

I don't think it's going to matter. This team is only going to win a couple more games. They play the next 2 on the road plus the Saints coming up. It will be pretty hard to win those anyway.

And yet here we are?

Funny that glaring inconsistancy has eluded your reasoning?
It wasn’t the glaring inconsistency, it was you :) If we want change we need to lose, I’ve seen the light! But not only do I want JG gone, Imwant Dak and Jerry gone so I will keep hoping we lose until all 3 are no longer “with” the Cowboys.

Jerry is the one who is ultimately responsible so unless we become the worst team in the league on a consistent basis there is no hope for a real GM. So here’s to losing every game until Jerry resigns as GM or dies!

The pattern of the Jason Garrett's lead teams are that when their backs are against the wall, they pull off a win. This leads the constant, 8-8 seasons.

I don't think ginger can maintain that pattern anymore. The house of cards he carefully crafted to shield himself from scrutiny is collapsing.

John Gruden approves of this strategy

Sure that's why you're doing awful math talking about "the Cowboys only being 1.5 games out".

I'm not sure which one of your multiple personalities looks worse.

Isn’t this the fair weather fan Kelce was talking about? I don’t care how people justify it, tanking is a loser mentality and is for losers.

In case you haven’t noticed...that’s exactly what we are.

If his replacement drafts poorly, as half of Jerry's coaching hires have, it will be cost, not benefit.

The problem: Your argument about needing better coaches to avoid wasting good players ignores the reality that our ability to load up with good players in the first place historically relies on the coach we've hired. Because the Joneses are trash, so our roster construction relies on the head coach swaying us towards competence. Half of the their head coaching hires drafted like absolute garbage and set us back, quickly throwing away the progress the last good drafter made. Throwing away one who drafts well isn't smart.

By the way, the next head coach is likely to demand to pick his own staff too, so firing Garrett likely costs us Kris Richard, who's overseen the strides our defense has made. Probably not smart either.

I really cant speak for the next coach or who it will be. And I have doubts that Jones will higher anyone good. But none the less, we must move on from Garrett if there is any hope of change.

Lol...Can't help ya there. The last thing I would do is jump in line with all the negativity that we have zero control over.

That is where you are wrong. The fan base has a pulse. The fan base as a whole can have a huge affect and put pressure on Jones. The problem is when soft hearted, casual fans just go with the flow. Its the die hard, angry fans that cant stand losing that step up and make life a living hell for Jerry when changes are needed and he is too much of a homer to make them.

Happens all over the country in other places. Just doesnt seem to happen here. Sadly. 8 years of Garrett as head coach and listening to his supporters for that tenure is proof of that.

Jerry thinks Garrett's coaching style will somehow change. It's not bro

To fire Garrett now would be throwing away 12 years of wasted careers, errors, learning on the job and the investment that Jones has had in Garrett. Didnt you know that? All the horror and losing would be all for not if he just let Garrett go. LOL

You should understand Dr Jekyl. You said you were against tanking and then said you wanted to tank, which is it? Get confused? Not sure which voice is talking to you right now?

Tanking without a first round pick is just sucking

Skip has been an ardent fan and cheerleader for the Cowboys for years. You can be a real fan and hope they do the right thing by getting rid of Garrett. There is NO HOPE with Garrett.

People who can’t understand tanking reminds me of one person with one oar on a rowboat, paddling in the same direction of the same side of the boat.... Going in circles aggressively, again and again, yet somehow believing the boat’s trajectory might somehow change, despite the fact that a trajectory change will only occur via a different paddling approach...

It’s like trying to paint a house, but only painting one side over and over again, and then getting frustrated because the job never gets done...

Think with your heads people. Should this season play out with the same bad to mediocre results as the prior 23 years, do you really think Jerry will somehow magically implement a paradigm shifting culture change capable of producing a SB, or, is it far more likely that the same old people/culture will yet again produce the same damn clown-shows we’ve seen repeated over the last quarter century??

Insanity = doing same thing and expecting different results.. Considering JJ is too old to learn new tricks, only extreme failure willl bring about change..

Tanking badly is really the only chance our once proud franchise has to escape Jerry’s loser-proven methods, and it also benefits our draft..

If you’re holding onto hope that we battle, tooth and claw, just to end up at .500, then you’re the exact part of the problem that enables Jerry’s inevitable failures in perpetuity..

Aikman and Skip are each correct..

Jerry would prefer that Garrett and Dak each remain..........

The real fan would want to get rid of Jerry and the only possibility of that is if the Cowboys are at the bottom of the NFL for several consecutive years so here’s to us being a dumoster fire for the next decade (or until Jerry dies).
