Dak leads the NFL in sacks

A QB "running for his life" used to be viewed as a positive for that position in Dallas. My how times have changed.
except there's not much running for his life and more just standing around

Much better pass protection. If this O line does not improve it’s pass blocking we could have Drew Brees as our QB and not win a playoff game. Look what Brees did under pressure against us. Dak actually had a much better game than Brees, and Dak was under more pressure than Brees. The blind Dak haters don’t see that though!!!
If I told you it really can't get much better because it's already better than most what will you say then?

Maybe draw up a damn game scheme that ohh I don't know, throws in more then 1 or 2 slants, quick slants, screens you know passing plays that actually don't take 6.5 seconds to develop... good grief.
most of his passes are what seems like 4 yards and less, how many more short passes do you want to settle for?

Dak is tied for 4th in time to throw (2.87 sec) and last in sacks (45), meaning he takes the most amount of sacks. A Rodgers is tied with TTT Dak at 2.87 and has taken 35 sacks. Andrew Luck is at TTT 2.88 and has taken 14 sacks.

It's not the OL
Of Dak's 45 sacks, 14 were attributed to Dak. That leaves 31 sacks on the OL, which is a lot, especially considering the lower amount of pass attempts.

Sacks.....45

Everyone knows I'm out a Dak fan, but we have him for at least the rest of year and probably longer.

What can be done right now so we can make a run

Ideas...
We aren't already "making a run"? I don't know where you get this correlation between "making a run" and Dak leading the nfl in sacks. It obviously didn't prevent us from winning our last 4 games and there is no reason we can't win our last 4 games without changing the Dak sack trend. He needs a coach that will help him with that but you can't definitively connect that to the future of us "making a run".

It’s called not getting rid of the ball like Tony wouldn’t do. Would rather take a sack than take the incomplete pass.

Coaches need to implement a hot route, o-line needs to step it up, Dak needs to develop a clock in his head...

I dont know why you say non sensical stuff like that.

We are all Cowboys fan are we not?...its just unnecesary between fans of the same team

You would be immortalized by fans if they knew you did it to get Jerry to step down as GM.

Your name would be remembered alongside Staubach and Landry as a great contributors to the Cowboys.

Even if Jerry didn't step down, you would be remembered as the greatest Cowboys fan of all time.

They would have to put up a memorial at Jerry World similar to the Tom Landry statue. I would urinate on it in your honor.

Step 1. Pray for Travis Frederick's immediate return
Step 2. Hold onto the ball and get rid of the ball when you feel pressure.
Step 3. Use your legs, when necessary and within reason, to add an extra dimension to the offense. Teams don't have an answer for Dak when he gets going.
Step 4. Hit at least 1, maybe 2 deep balls a game - more than that is always welcome. Not enough splash plays in the passing game, except on go routes with Gallup and plays where Cooper kills it with YAC.
Step 5. Score in the red zone, though a lot of this is on Linehan

That's how you make a deep playoff run.
#4 is more likely to create more sacks.

fumbles and sacks can be viewed several ways
still Dak must do a better jub. I think he's getting there

Dak certainly was not under more pressure than Brees, plus our secondary was shutting down Brees' receivers, while ours were getting open.

If Brees was more willing to risk taking a sack or bigger to break away from a sack, he might have completed a couple more passes to extend drives.

A QB used to have to run for his life.
That's the popular belief. I wish we had these NextGen stats back when Tony was playing. While I know his offensive line wasn't great, it was better than many lead it to believe. So was the running game that was non-existent primarily because it just wasn't utilized, not because it couldn't be effective.

Dallas needs to throw the playbook away. Run more quick passes. Run more play action and bootlegs. Get Dak moving and not let Dak be a statue in the pocket.

I just hate when our offense takes so long to develop. It was a problem when we had Romo. Its also a problem with Dak. The real problem is Garrett and Linehan. Two fools that are stubborn to change things.

Not 100% accurate. Romo had no issue bombing an INT.

I assume "out a Dak fan" means "not a Dak fan". Why would you want to make a run with such a bad starting QB? Just bring in White and watch for poop stains on white tights. BTW, Dak doesn't lead the NFL in sacks, he has been sacked the most times however.

hmmmm I remember a few Romo throws where I would have preferred a sack or a throw it away and live to throw another day. There were times that I wished the ball was on a string and he could have just pulled it back. I'm thinking he wished that too at times.
