I'd rather be adding money to the bottom line by Lombardi's to the trophy case.

You think NE's worth is due to Bob Kraft's business acumen or all those championships they have won the last 20 years?

Anyone who thinks Jerry is a great owner officially have no bar at all. Maybe that’s what attracts them to this POS????

Point of order.

To be a good owner, Jerry would be required to look at the past 20+ years and fire his decision maker. He would be required to look at Garrett's tenure and fire him.

He would be inclined to hire a go-getter head coach that was a disciplinarian and someone who changes the culture of this franchise. Someone who DEMANDS excellence and success. Over and over we have seen this team get to the play-offs one year and fail the next. The players don't seem to be accountable, nor do they give the impression they believe they will be held accountable for their results.

A good GM would fire the coach. A good owner would fire the GM.

Any answer but bad owner, bad GM needs to review the last two decades or more since Jimmy's team dissolved.

That's a stupid comparison. If I owned a business and knew I could hire someone to make that business perform better than I could, I'd hire them. It's simple. So yeah, I'd totally fire myself if it helped my business.

Jerry would be a great owner if he hired a real GM and let him to do the job. He admitted that he'd have fired any other GM with his record....which means he knows that there are better choices out there....therefore he cares more about his own ego than the good of the team....making him a bad GM AND a bad owner.

Care to offer a rebuttal?

He started off looking like an absolute genius and the media was talking about him knowing how to build a team.....hired a football guy in Jimmy Johnson and let him out his staff together and help with getting the pieces Jimmy needed, sit back and let the lombardys roll in and look like a genius..........then the ego kicked in.......and we're still seeing the results of that over two decades later.........he goes from looking like a well respected football genius to a total buffoon all because of his ego.

THIS has always been my #1 critique of Jerry. He is a smart business man YET he never can figure that he got all the praise he needed when they were winning SBs and letting a guy like Jimmy run things. That is what every great owner in the history of the NFL is known for...even guys like Kraft now. Yet he somehow changed things to make it seem like HE was the franchise in all things. He'd still be getting all the praise, accolades, money, etc if he just stayed the course. Even if Jimmy left hire another football stud.

He's gotten better over the years, but he is still not good at evaluating talent.....both for players and coaches.

Some stupid things Jerry's done.
1) Let Jimmy walk
2) safety Roy Williams failure. Gave up 1st round and a 4th to get him.
3) Shante Carver.
4) Quincy Carter. Whatever happened to him?
5) Joey Galloway.

Honorable mentions: Bobby Carpenter, David LaFleur, Dwayne Goodrich, the other Roy Williams trade.

I get it. And I would prefer that as well. But Jerry's number 1 priority as an owner is to make money and increase the value of his business. The Cowboys are a business after all. And from this perspective, Jerry is not just good, he is one of the best in the NFL.

If the main objective of a business is to grow economically and make money then how can we say Jerry is a bad owner?

I get that he is a terrible GM but I am not sure we can say he is a bad owner just because the franchise has not won more Super bowls.

OR he lied to lead some people into believing his 'sincerity'. It is a common tactic for narcissists.

All I heard about all offseasons was how loaded this roster was, possibly the most talented team in the league. If that's the case I have a hard time labeling jerry a bad gm.

The issue seems to be the people responsible for utilizing that talent. Obviously jerry put those people in charge though.....sooo....now my brain hurts.

I think Jerry got ignored a lot as a youngster to the point that he craves love and attention from everyone. The fact that he blacklists reporters that ask tough questions or portray him in a negative light in any way is yet more evidence of this.

So when Jimmy edged him out and made him feel like he didn't get the credit he deserved, he decided right then that credit is what he was going to have no matter what.....He craves that love that he thinks will come from "credit."
It's also why he's a player's owner, opening his door to them and keeping the coaches from instilling too much discipline...because it might affect his relationships with the players.
