On episode 7 of Watchmen right now. Strange show, but good...and the list of actors is incredible! Louis Gossett Jr., Jean Smart, Regina King, Jeremy Irons...Great cast.
I watched the episode late on record just now. HBO can really pick well-thought out programming. That was one of the best designed paradoxes I have ever experienced. And it was so freaking subtle. :p

Strange though, the last episode felt like a season ending episode, but there's at least one more.

I could do without all the male nudity, especially the full frontal.

I see how it would seem that way but there must be some additional information given to the audience concerning the 7th Cavalry's insidious plot. Ending the season now would be an incomplete cliffhanger.

True, but I've never heard of a "complete" cliffhanger. Seems like an oxymoron.

LOL! Yeah. Well, I see your point. Perhaps we have different expectations of cliffhangers.

For me, a single film or series of episodes is underwritten with a plot and a twist in a plot is equivalent to a cliffhanger.

Watchmen's initial season is primarily built upon the Seventh Cavalry's plan. Other components feed into it but that is the essential plot.

The plan or plot has not completely played out. In my opinion, a slight or significant change in the expected outcome of the plot would meet my requirements for a cliffhanger. At this point, the main plot is suspended at:

  • The predicaments of John, Blake and Veidt
  • Lady Trieu and Angela grandfather's counter measures
Other subplots dealing with John and Veidt's children (big props to Sara Vickers and Sleepy Hollow alum Tom), Looking Glass, Trieu's daughter, and even Angela could be argued as irreplaceable keys for the current direction of the plot but the above two are the main loose ends I would expect the show to tie up before the season ends.

Of course, a cliffhanger could be argued as a loose end in-and-of itself. Even so, I think the ending for episode seven would leave the show looking pretty ragged for its next season. My expectation is the show and HBO will leave its audience with a typical "What the? Huh? Where did this come from?" curve ball after all the pitched strikes we have gotten thus far. That is the cliffhanger I expect. :)

Every episode...in fact two or three times per episode.. has left me with that feeling. Lol

It's a strange show, and if not for the cast, I probably would have quit after episode 2. But now that they've tied the timeline and stories together a bit more coherently, it's making more sense to me.

Can't believe no one in this thread is watching Mr. Robot. Best show on TV in it's final season.

Also watching:
  • The Mandalorian
  • Shameless Season 10
  • Yellowstone

Evil-CBS show that has been interesting so far.
Purge-USA one of my favorite shows on TV.
Mandalorian-Disney+ is very good show slow at times but great representation of the Star Wars universe.

I've been watching The Crown on Netflix. I never thought I would find the British Royal family so interesting, but the show is amazing. Of course, I'm an American and have never had an interest in the Royal family. They're from another country, and I've always just viewed them as people I don't know, so why should I care? But the show is really interesting.

Weeds season 2
China Beach season 2 - I'm pretty sure I watched this when it was originally on, but I only remember the first couple epis - having fun watching it
I see Handmaid's Tale season 3 just came in at the library so I can start watching that tomorrow

WC has been cancelled. I thought it was real cheesy. Stopped watching it even before I found out it was gone.

Figures... they will run many seasons of regurgitated crap shows but cancel others at an instant. I liked it and thought it was pretty funny at least. I’d have to look it up but I’ve got some stations I’ll no longer watch shows from because I’m a little peeved when I get cut off at a cliffhanger and find out it’s cancelled.

Barry with Bill Hader. Very strange occurrence, I had just watched True Romance with Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette earlier in the evening (which was excellent too). Then an episode of Barry re-enacted a scene from that movie in acting class. I'm enjoying Barry. Glad it's not the stupid sitcom I thought it was going to be.

Did The Fonz get fat, or is that a prosthetic stomach for this part?

Always Sunny in Philly, never miss it.
Dark, I like it but it's hard to follow. It reminds me a little of a German version of Lost.
Perpetual Grace, dropped HBO and trying Epix for a bit. I'm about 4 in and digging it.
Ridiculousness, it's always on and always funny.
Battlebots, but it's done for the season as of last weekend.

I love watching Ridiculousness, but her laugh is beyond annoying.

I can see that. I gave it a chance and am sticking with it. It's not a show where I can't wait for the next episode, but I'm entertained by it. Why I usually have 4 or 5 episodes on my DVR.

I forgot to list the Orville. Love that show.

I loved the first season of Orville, I kept trying to get into season two, but it just leaned a little to hard. I try hard to stay away from that on my entertainment.
