The poster I responded to literally said two decades. So I used the time frame he introduced into the debate. He seemed to be making the point that for 20 years the Eagles have been a disappointment and their strategy stinks.

Well then how do you categorize our last 20 years?

A disappointment for a fanbase accustomed to domination, but when approached by snarky Philly fans, I’ll continue to dredge up our heritage.

The Eagles are a good team. If they still had Wentz, they’d be representing both sides in the Super Bowl this year.

One front office spent the offseason trying to improve. The other spent it congratulating themselves on the imaginary great job they've been doing.

Jerry turns 80 in three weeks.

He looks soooooo much older than 79. He looks worse than the 96 year old queen that just died

I'm reading what Jerry said differently. To me JJ is just planning ahead and giving himself and Dak an out. No matter how great Rush plays over the next few weeks Dak is going to be our starting QB again asap.(JJ always plays his money players) Most likely the Eagles game is the game they are shooting for to bring Dak back. If Dak comes back and lays a turd and we get beat Jerry can say I told you weeks ago the Eagles were a very good team. If Dak plays well and the team pulls out a win then JJ makes Dak look great and any talk of any QB controversy is put to rest.
Nah. Jerry just has diarrhea of the mouth.

In the last 20 years, they have made the playoffs 13 times, won 11 playoff games, made 5 NFC Champ games, 2 SBs, winning one.

In the last 20 years, the Cowboys have made the playoffs 8 times, won 3 playoff games, made zero NFC Champ games and haven't sniffed a SB.

Maybe it's just me, but we Cowboys fans shouldn't be talking smack about how another team's strategies have failed and they are often overhyped given our run over 2 decades.

1 Superbowl.

That's all that matters.

You can't say they have a championship winning formula when they've only won once.

My point is that every year Philly gets overhyped because they blew a bunch of money on expensive free agents.

We've seen this over and over again. 2 games in and people are crowning them SB favorites when they barely squeaked out a 3 point win against Detroit.

They are the Raiders of the NFC, spend big money and get 7-9 to 9-7 results every year.

Yes Jerry, the Eagles will give the Cowboys all they can handle. They have a real GM who actually goes out and acquires players that make their team better, makes them more competitive.

So Jerry, how have you made the Cowboys better under your tenure? Those 26 years or so of mediocrity is the elephant in the room.

So as long as Cowboys are still being talked about then you’ve done your job; results are obviously secondary. If that is your yardstick, then job well done!

He's trying to get in their heads. Tom Brady does the same thing. Jerry is a lot more shrewd than people give him credit. I have a feeling that Jerry we see in front of the camera is not the same one behind closed doors. At least, not exactly.

Yeah, my response is mainly for the Cowboy fans that always seem to praise everyone EXCEPT the Cowboys.

I know pretty intelligent, still cognizant and cerebral 80 year olds....but Jerry's drinking, party loving, sex driven lifestyle has aged him beyond his years. He is an "old" 80. Yes senility is setting in...just like another soon to be 80 year old on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Not only are the Eagles looking like a strong team. They have accumulated a lot of draft picks in case Hurts didn't work out. I was told on this forum if you draft a 1st round QB and he is a bust it cripples your franchise. Eagles trade Wentz. Heck the Rams did the same thing when they drafted Goff and they just traded him away. Dallas should of traded Dak after last year. Jerry is breaking the rule of becoming personal friends with players.

You mean the team that went out and aggressively upgraded their roster?
They just didn't like their guys. Didn't trust the plan. What would they know?

For once, I don't think what Jerry said is hogwash. We'll likely be hard pressed to beat the Eagles into submission. Here's hoping we're able to improve enough between now and then to come out on top. In the meantime, we'll work hard to get our OL squared away and be prepared for the battle. In the meantime, we'll have a date with the NY Giants to tend to. First things first. o_O
