2nd and 4

I love these counters when people run out of points to make. "Yeah, yeah, well you're just a big mean Eagles fan!"

Like an elementary playground. Am I Mr. Meaniehead as well?
Now I remember that you are the only CZer I ever put on ignore.......later keep enjoying these wins

140 of his yards came in a single game, against scrubs. Again, context.

and that 140 came without Tyron Smith and Collins for much of the game. Don't give me that BS about oh Bears had injuries hell Cowboys have injuries and suspension and I don't recall anyone here giving Dallas an excuse.

30 carries for 140 yards (4.7 ypc) with a long of 21 and no fumbles works for me. That's lunch pail stuff right there. The big plays will come, I am not worried about that.

The problem is that you should not be doing lunch pail stuff against the Bears defense with half of them rookies and the others doing an impression of the walking dead

We don't have a great run game
What happened against the Giants will happen against the better defenses

We have a great run game and its getting better. Thats ok, you'll learn soon enough.

Even without Tyron, we still have 3 probowlers on the line man. I mean, come on. Losing Smith was more of an impact for the passing game, not the run.

And I will give you that "BS", they had 4 rookies starting! They had no LBs with real experience, they had no D-line, their secondary was shattered. We were going up against a preseason defense, it was that bad.

If only we were going up against the Bears D every week. What did Zeke do last night that is anything we didn't see from McFadden last year? We got McFadden for pennies, we gave up a premium pick for Zeke.
I hated the pick too. But that doesn't mean he didn't have a great game on Sunday. I'm not going to judt not like the guy because I didn't like the pick. I actually don't think DMC or Morris would have been nearly as good as last night. And you know what impresses me the most about Zeke? His pass Blocking! The guy is an animal and has a special attitude. I Still don't agree with the pick though. But that's a totally different topic.
Oh and I don't care what defense the Cowboys are playing. I will take 140 yds rushing with no WOW plays every week. I don't need to see wow plays to say Zeke had a good game. 140 yds rushing is a great game. Period. If he does that each week we can win with this LOUSY, sorry excuse of a defense

and don't forget our QB1

Exactly. And thats why eventually you'll even like the pick too.

The OP gets employee of the month at the local Circle K and all of a sudden his expectations for Zeke go through the roof. Apparently ringing up $3500 worth of candy in one night is equal to a 250 yard night on the gridiron.:oldcouple:Who knew?

when did Emmitt ever get 250?

I'm hoping Zeke continues to improve. He will have a chance to showcase his skills against the Bengals and Packers soon. Although he did put up some good numbers against the Bears, I didn't see the breakaway speed or jukes that everyone said he has. Maybe it's because he's finally getting into the swing of things. Too early to tell, but if he can do what he did yesterday to the packers and bengals, I'll be impressed.

Go Cowboys.

I didn't, really. It was nice seeing him break off some big runs (and it's not like that beat up Bears defense wasn't playing hard), but I've yet to feel like our running game is taking over one of these games this year. Last night was probably the closest we've gotten to that, though, so maybe it's coming.

I still think it makes a huge difference for the running game if we can get that WR opposite Dez to make a few big plays. If we can beat a defense from either side and underneath, and have a QB that runs, they really can't afford to focus so much on stopping the running game exclusively. We're getting close.

Which is good, because we still can't get much pressure, apparently.

This is where Romo is so important. When he is in there and teams are focused on stopping him, this line and the RBs will start gashing teams for major yardage. Huge chunks coming quite often, not just 8-9 yds or an occassional 15-20 yarder, but 30-50 yard runs.

Wasn't impressed because it was the Bears D. If he dominates a defense like, say, Bengals I will be right there with all of you.

Point taken. The question then becomes what SHOULD an elite runner do ( a rookie nonetheless) vs a subpar defense? Dominate! Question 2 is how have all other backs performed vs the Bears D?

Lamar Miller 28/106 3.8, Sproles 12/40 3.2 Matthews 9/32 3.6

His pass block on that play that Collinsworth commented on was what impressed me. Many RBs would struggle with that type of block.

You're missing the part where the Bears D was more banged up from week 1 to week 3. They didn't resemble themselves last night. This will be the easiest defense Zeke goes against all year, and his ceiling was 140 on 30 carries.

I don't even know why you have to argue this point.

Me neither, but that's the sad state of the board these days. You're not allowed to enjoy wins, or be excited about young players, or like any of the older players, or eat cheese... I'm sure I'm missing something here.

Patrick Peterson? Patrick Peterson made his name in returning his rookie season and had a lot of rocky games, his best game came later in the season against Bryant. Marcus Peters, for as many turnovers he gets, is surrounded by defensive talent but also gets burned a ton. As for Haden, Haden's 2010 season, it took him until the second half to come alive where he had something like 5-6 games in a row where he had INTs.

A corner coming in immediately and producing like top talent is far more rare than RBs coming in and producing.

This comparison is so bad I'm done entertaining it.

Okay, so you'd rather have a top 5 corner playing like crap than a top 5 running back playing well. Got it.

Just to be fair he left out Ryan Mathews 2 TDs also
