Yep.Really? Grier makes peanuts, Lance making 20 million in next two years. We could have gotten Taylor for his money.

Yep, them 49ers fans are laughing because they know Lance is a bust they no longer have to deal with.
If that's the case, im ok with this. If we owe him more, this deal sucks.Cowboys aren’t paying that
What this tells you is that the Cowboys were never going to keep Will Grier. Lance will not jump Rush on the depth chart this season, if ever. But he has more upside than Rush if he develops. His ceiling is higher.
McClay wants a QB he can develop. The ones the Cowboys were interested in during the draft were taken before their picks in each round. Now McClay has a project.
If you recall, the news on Aaron Rodgers is that the Packers had to completely rebuild the mechanics of how he threw the ball. McClay did a pretty good job rebuilding his delivery in 2006 and 2007, and Rodgers’ turned into one of the top QB’s in the NFL.
McCarthy has done this before; maybe he can do it again. The Cowboys aren’t going to find another QB with the physical skills of Lance in the late 4th round next year. So if they were dead set on drafting a QB on day 3 next season, at least with Trey Lance they’ve got a player with more raw ability and talent than they would get next year.
No guarantee of success, but they took a 5th round flyer on Mike White a couple of years ago which didn’t work out. If Lance doesn’t work out, there isn’t much lost. But the acquisition of Lance does indicate that the Cowboys are keeping 3 QB’s on the roster. That is going to cost a roster spot for one or more of Malik Davis, Sean McKeon, Jalen Brooks or T.J. Bass.
25 offensive roster spots:
That is 27 players for 25 spots. Which two guys get cut? My guess is Davis and McKeon get cut, and the Cowboys keep Bass and Brooks.
- 3 QB spots - Dak, Rush, Lance
- 3-4 RB’s - Pollard, Dowdle, Deuce, Davis
- 3-4 TE’s - Ferguson, Schoonmaker, Hendershot, McKeon
- 5-6 WR’s - Lamb, Cooks, Gallup, Tolbert, Turpin, Brooks
- 9-10 Olinemen - Smith, Smith, Biadasz, Martin, Steele, Richards, Farniok, Ball, Waletzko, Bass
Facts. Mike M knows great quarterbacks and Dak ain't HIM!This is a move to hedge against Dak underperforming this year. I heard that his training camp is not looking so good, if things go sideways this season Dak won't be in Dallas next year's and Cooper Rush will be the starter until the next QB takes over.
The fact that Rush went 4-1 last year shows the team is good enough to win in the regular season without Dak.
2 years ago and they traded 3 firsts and a third for him.So, wait, this dude was the 3rd overall pick last year? That's crazy.
I'm not like you Dak haters. I OWN UP WHEN I'M WRONG......WHICH IS VERY RARE.And if he gets a chance to play and succeeds, I seriously doubt you’ll say you were wrong. Works both ways.
Lance cant even read defenses at this point. And his accuracy is suspect. HE las looked terrible up until now. He will need all 3 years to develop. He has that here with no pressure and a great leader and QB like Dak to learn from. Perfect situation for him.100% my line of thought also
Both Lance and Darnold were the 3rd overall picks in the draft. Purdy still has a high draft pick breathing down his neck. This is a win win situation. The Niners caught lightning in a bottle with a rookie qb who led them to the NFC championship. They saw what they needed in the kid to be their qb of the future and didn’t want a top draft choice breathing down his neck and the fans calling for Lance every time he throws an interception. They have a solid backup and say he is the number two and field offers for Lance. They played it well.
For the Cowboys, a 4th rounder is a joke if this kid turns out to be a franchise qb. The Cowboys clearly like the kid and I think Will is pretty good at what he does. Let’s see how things turn out, and what Mike can get out of this kid, but this is a win win in my opinion.
Must be why he is starting Dak, goes out of his way to praise him publicly and is protecting him by not playing him in the preseason.Facts. Mike M knows great quarterbacks and Dak ain't HIM!
Yep.
You're one of the dumbest posters in this forum, so your comment doesn't say much.Considering what they gave up to get Lance, that is the dumbest post of the day
If I pay $100 for 2 boxes and 1 box has in it a rotten apple and the other a top of the line PC and then someone offers me $5 for the box with the apple when they know the apple is in it, that is still a good deal for me. I got value from my money (they got Purdy with their picks) and someone is willing to take on the bust.If you think giving away $300 for $4 is a good deal let's exchange venmos.
I saw some of your earlier posts on Lance. Lance has looked horrible thus far in his career. He needs time to develop.Yes, and Lance is coming from a WCO-style offense. The styles shouldn't be terribly difficult from what he's accustomed to running.
Dak will finally be exposed this seasonMust be why he is starting Dak, goes out of his way to praise him publicly and is protecting him by not playing him in the preseason.
