Fresh out of hibernation I want to start the season as a Homer until the weather (wins / losses) makes me change. I have some serious questions about our roster, but fully expect us to win.

Things I like:
Watson hasn't quite fully recovered from his shoulder surgery yet. Plus he hasn't been very good since moving on to Cleveland.
Add in that their O-line isn't what it was last year and Callahan has moved on to Tenn. to join his son.
I expect McCarthy's offense to be better in their 2nd year running it.
I think we've made major improvements to our LBs.

Things that worry me:
I have no idea what to expect from our running game.
Chubb is out on their side, but their other 2 backs are supposed to be pretty good.
I don't know if Zimmer is as good a DC as his CZ hype.
We'll be depending on a rookie & a low key trade to replace Bland.
Diggs is coming back off a major injury.
(My absolute faith in Al Harris alliviates the last 2 a bit.)

Sorry boys, but I'm not feeling it for Sunday.

1. Dallas was 2-4 last year when facing winning teams...before Packers in playoffs
2. Cleveland had 2nd best defense last year (DVOA rating)
3. The dog pound is loud and emotional & Browns were 8-1 at home last year
4. Guyton facing Myles Garrett in his very first game is too much
5. Dallas has lost 8 of it's last 11 games on grass
6. Cleveland has one of the most complete rosters in NFL
7. First game of season = sloppy. Cleveland can be damp and windy.
I think we win.
Deshaun Watson is terrible and Nick Chubb is out

Didn't Cleveland put up 50 at our place a few years ago?

I know Watson might be rusty but I have very little confidence in our defense. Diggs is going to play the first time in about a year. No Bland. On the road. It could get ugly.

And on the other side of the ball, will our offense be good enough to sustain drives and keep the defense off the field? I have no clue as the first unit really played none in the preaeason, but that isn't uncommon these days for most teams, especially vets who have played awhile.

I think we are underdogs for a reason, though.
so wait.... a few years ago Cleveland put up 50, so you se that to make a prediction.

Last year, we led the NFL in scoring, but yet you wonder if we can sustain drives?

Watson hasnt played well in a long time, but our defense stinks, so that makes him look lik eMahomes?

Dak was fantastic in the regular season, but dismiss that becuas ehe didnt play in th epreseason?

Yea, good analysis.

Dak Prescott is the only quarterback to complete over 60% of his passes under pressure this season. Under pressure, Prescott ranks first in completion percentage (64.5%), passer rating (103.5), and CPOE (+10.8%), according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

This was last year BTW . You guys really need to update your narratives.
Yep sure looked good to me in the playoffs. I hope he keeps up the good work. The 49ers love him and so do the Packers.

That's fair, it usually takes a few weeks for teams to settle in. I guess my point is I don't want or need false hope. While neither team will be running full octane they are still a good measuring stick in principle.
I'm hoping that maybe they won't be prepared for our new Zimmer defense. Maybe our new defense will be the winner on Sunday.

Negative as I've been I still hope and halfway expect to win. I do believe this is a really good young team. Unfortunately I don't think we're good enough to hang with the elite. I will expect more of the same until proven otherwise.

exactly the fat boys will be fresh game one.. .
I think our LBs will fill the lanes nicely and having a defense that isn't about stopping the run on your way to the qb should help. Let's just hope we still find ways to get to the qb.

8. Sink hole at the 16th
9. Twister on the horizon

We'll beat cleveland.

It might be an ugly game in terms of not a lot of scoring, but I doubt we lose by a lot (if we lose at all.)

Nope, he left for the Titans to work with his son
Really? They just signed him to an extension last year. Reading up on it, that was a classy move by Stefanski to let him go coach with his son.

LOL..

7 reasons the browns lose in epic fashion (For Nostradamus)

1. Browns Offense has been pretty bad
2. Chubby is out, running game will suck
3. The browns Coach Stefanski over the last four years is has barely won over half games coached in.
4. Their Qb Deshaun Watson has been pretty bad-- Prescott over Watson..
5. Cowboys came off of horrible loss in playoffs and have a ton to prove
6. Denzel Ward against CeeDee, Ceedee wins.
7. All three Browns tackles ended their seasons with knee injuries and have to face Parsons. Advantage parsons.

I dont see a win too. Rather a destruction to be honsest.

Going against good or great defenses doesnt fit our devolution of an NFL QB.

Well at least he tried. Hard worker and great leader after all. But so is my dog too.

0-1

Edit:

To be honest i lied: I dont have a dog. I have a cat. But well who cares about those nuances ? To be or not QB ? Really, who cares.

If Cleveland has you worried

Why is it that practically no one has the Browns as a top AFC contender? I see Chiefs, Ravens, Texans, Bengals, Jets, Bills and Dolphins being ranked ahead. And if you look at the power rankings, quite a few of them seem to have the Cowboys ranked ahead of the Browns.

It's ok if you think it's just bad timing to get the Browns on the road in week 1. Rookies starting on the OL and at CB. But let's not act like the Browns are world-beaters!!

in that questionable offensive line that the browns have better find a way to keep parsons and Zimmers pressure from anywhere type D from wrecking the game...Watson better be on hit the 2nd step and let it go or long day for the browns as well.

for me that means closer game maybe Cowboys 20-13 win or something in that neighborhood..

heck a close loss blows my TROs ugly loss theory out the window.
Force them to beat us through the air and our chances improve

I think the Cowboys will surprise and play well against the Browns. Honestly I think the two teams are pretty evenly matched. Cowboys win on a FG 24-21.

Not that it matters, but the Cowboys were 4-5 vs. winning teams last year.

Dak has historically been bad in game 1s when he doesn’t play in preseason

I read 7 reasons... and immediately think 6 of them
will be on Dak...lol.

I've said it since the schedule came out.
Dallas will lose this game.

If you seriously think "it's Cleveland" and this will be
an easy W, you must not follow the NFL. The Browns
have been tough for a while. Their division is the toughest in the league. Heck, if the Browns were in the NFC East, they'd be perennial division champ contenders.

Mostly, I want Amari to have a big game. The loss will have nothing to do with Guyton. He will handle Garrett for most of the game. Might get beat late. People thinking they'll miss Nick Chubb. Dallas is about to get run over by a "Ford". Now, that's bad...lol

But I'll be sitting watching the game and rooting for the Cowboys. Waiting to get sucked back in to this ongoing soap opera.
