OK, it's dangerous. but so is it dangerous for ambulance drivers and fireifighters who don't carry guns and have to go into lawless neighborhoods.

Exactly. I was a fireman for 7 years and not once did I ever feel I was not welcome in any neighborhood.

I invite you to go down to your local Law Enforcement Agency and request a ride along on a weekend. Then come back and say how hard the job is.

They have back up? True but in some cases back up could be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour a way.

Ride alongs are awesome. I rode in one. We caught a drunk driver...and responded to another call going 80MPH. Very cool.

I'm pretty sure the examples that i made we're realistic. Just because i didn't want to have pertain it to race doesn't mean that it is any less legit. I just was attempting to proove the point that people make assumption of people based off of the way the dress and for people to lay a claim that they don't is beyond me. I relayed it back to female and Commanders because one more ost of us on these boards are men and two we are all cowboys fans.

Your are correct, but there is still a lot of risk involved. For example there are some neighborhoods in D.C. where the ambulance personnel wear bullet proof vest, but I do see your point.
