Your are correct, but there is still a lot of risk involved. For example there are some neighborhoods in D.C. where the ambulance personnel wear bullet proof vest, but I do see your point.

And why do they have to wear bullet proof vests? ;)

I invite you to go down to your local Law Enforcement Agency and request a ride along on a weekend. Then come back and say how hard the job is.

They have back up? True but in some cases back up could be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour a way.

You have no way of knowing, but I have been on ride-alongs. On various occasions. I've even been along with customs many years ago.

Boring. Noneventful.
The average persons, IMHO, works much harder and is exposed to much greater risk. When one of our fellow citizens gets hurt, we don't rampage through town trying to find the perp. And we are not allowed to carry guns.
If we meet a thug on the street we just have to hope he/they will not bother us.

Police, like I said, have guns and have backup. They are one call away from requesting backup in the form of the entire department. Even their nondeadly weapons are effective, which we don't carry.

But police act as if they've been terribly hurt when I say this, and I understand.
I just think the average police officer on the street is safer than the average persons on the street. That's all.

Oh, and they do seem to think they are above the law. Because they are the law and to dispute them is to risk a ride down to headquarters.

Having said that, heavyg, I respect you and what you do. Just quit stopping me because of my race and just because I weave the car wildly.

like is said if 7 out of 10 green ppl since I don't want to relate this to race anymore. If 7 out of 10 green ppl smack you in the face every time you said hello to them would you continue to say hello to them? Let me get this is antoher asinine analogy i guess.

Why would they slap me in the face for saying hello to them?

I'd stop saying Hello to the 7 that slapped me, but it wouldn't stop me from being friendly to others.

Evidently so because of your own bias all cops are out beating blacks and making up stories to haul people in for no reason. Seem like you are making your own assumptions about people you don't know.

Because there have been times that after they would response to a shooting and found a person down, the people who did the shooting have came back to try to finish the job. Sometimes we even have to follow the ambulance to the Hospital to prevent any more incidents.

Why . . . yes . . . I do.

I am hauling junk from the grounds of the halfway house and sweating and stuff and i see police in their crisp uniforms in air-conditioned cars driving past and shouting epithets at me.

Oh, the cops makes me sooooo angry sometimes!!!!!

Your arguments have went from asinine to just silly now.

So lets apply this green people analogy to your taxi driver argument. So you're saying 7 out of 10 black people will leave without paying, because "that's what they do"?

So it's completely justifiable for a taxi driver to ignore them?

Ok, you bring me some facts that say 70% of the people who ditch a cabby without paying are black..... then I might take you seriously, until then I'm done.
