How did I know?...................Well, what else could it have been? That's how I knew!

Wait. Have you never seen Halle Berry as Catwoman?....That's almost unAmerican!Ooh! Thanks!
Yeah, I've never seen either, but I'd now watch Catwoman first!

I'm not mad...but I'm very disappointed in you.I have not.
Let us know what you think about Catwoman. Fair-to-poor movie plot and acting but Berry's Catwoman scenes make it a watchable movie.Ooh! Thanks!

Glad there are people believing a Billy Batson movie has a promising future. I am still pessimistic about the idea and the first trailer I have seen did not make me optimistic about its possible box office appeal. Then again, the movie may put my impressions in their proper place. If so, I will not complain.
That Seth Rogan "Green Hornet" was the worst. That movie has not been shown on HBO,Cinemax,Showtime,FX,etc. because it was that bad. Rogan made a travesty out of The Green Hornet & Kato.
I thought this thread was going to be about DC Universe movies. Haha
I think, from the trailer, that they took a page out of the Marvel playbook and lightened the tone significantly, injecting less forced humor as well. Whether it succeeds or not, I think it'll be vastly more entertaining than any DC Shared Cinematic Universe produced so far.

I'm not sure that train wreck could be saved. lol
Bold> That is my expectation as well, although much of my anticipation is not associated with box office. There is no denying the similarity between theIf you've ever seen the Tom Hanks film "Big", that's what you're getting, except with special effects and a cape. I don't expect it to bomb, but I don't expect it to make a billion dollars either. I don't expect it to bomb, but I don't expect it to make a billion dollars either. I can see it being a modest success, which will still be a win for D.C. at the box office.
I think they've bounced back some. Aquaman has been a huge hit for them. I don't think it's any coincidence that the less Zack Snyder is involved, the better the results.
Bold> That is my expectation as well, although much of my anticipation is not associated with box office. There is no denying the similarity between theCaptain MarvelShazam/Billy Batson story and Big movie concepts. I just do not think a blending of the two is necessary. I think it is a directed attempt to 'dumb down' the actual basis of the character for the broader general audience to understand and accept.
For me, it is like... they are wanting to capture the Deadpool lightning in a bottle--no pun intended about the lightning. If true, the underlying problem is that Deadpool was a practically a 100% match between fictional character and real life adaptation. Deadpool was not an morphed presentation of his comic. That movie was a reflection of how the character was depicted on paper.
The Shazam trailer had the same feel as Big. Maybe it is simply my anxiety influencing my perception. I want the movie to be successful. lol. I want ALL of them to be great but I also want them to be true to themselves also.
Something about that Aquaman movie that just left nothing memorable.
The costumes looked right out of 1990’s (Mera and Queen specifically).
I like Marvel and DC pretty much equally.
I really wish the Marvel directing, story, editing crew etc. had both DC and Marvel franchises.
We will see about the entertainment quality. I know 'the move tone issue' turns off some audience members. It does not for me necessarily. I take any movie of any genre as they come.I think, from the trailer, that they took a page out of the Marvel playbook and lightened the tone significantly, injecting less forced humor as well. Whether it succeeds or not, I think it'll be vastly more entertaining than any DC Shared Cinematic Universe produced so far.
Big was my first thought when seeing the trailer as well, but hopefully they expand the story beyond just being about the typical body switch. If you've ever seen the Tom Hanks film "Big", that's what you're getting, except with special effects and a cape. I don't expect it to bomb, but I don't expect it to make a billion dollars either. I can see it being a modest success, which will still be a win for D.C. at the box office.
There was a LOT wrong with Green Lantern in addition to Ryan Reynolds playing Hal Jordan but I will admit (as I have always said) that Reynolds should have played Jordan strictly in the dramatical sense. Too many Van Wilder-like tidbits intentionally allowed into the movie. They're certainly going for a wider appeal, which I think is actually the smart play, given that they're using this particular character. After all, trying to play it straight with Ryan Reynolds as Green Lenten sure blew up in their faces.
