one observation I will make, and I did during the game, is that the offense is starting to go back to the feast-or-famine type that doomed our season last year

we lead the league, or did to enter the game, in yards per play, and 20+ yard plays, and today the game plan was called to that effect

what happened to the screens? it seems that Garrett will make these crazy, good implementations to the O one week, that work, then completely disregard it the next, to go back to his down-the-field philosophy

the season is a marathon, not a race, that what works in the 1st half, will sometimes not work for the whole season, I just hope today doesn't become a trend

This game. This game does not define a season. No single game ever defines a season for any team while that season is still in motion.

Agreed, but 20 years of underachievement defines a career, as does 3 years of unsuccessful adjustments. Your mistake is that I'm basing these opinions solely on any individual game.

As for your picture, I have schooled you so many times on actual football discussions that it isn't funny. Deny that if you wish, but very few people take you seriously in a football discussion. That isn't my fault.

You schooled me in the infamous 30 yard slant discussion long ago, I schooled you in the Braylon Edwards/Mike Williams debate. Those are the two that stand out in my mind.

I still love ya hos, but I just think you're in denial and are blindly hoping that something changes. I know how smart you are, and because of that I think that deep down you know what's going to happen, as does everyone here. We're going to back into the playoffs on the strength of early/mid season success, look pretty poor in doing so in the month of december, and flame out in the playoffs. That is what Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett will always give us.

The line play was bad but the long developing plays were equally ********.

The big picture is that Garrett tried to use the pass to set up the run, only the packers shut it down early and Garrett failed to adjust - AGAIN! That's not an over-reaction; that's a trend. this team is built to run the ball and the O-coordinator can't see that.

Nice backtracking.

"You won't hear anything negative from me this season"

and then, today.

Havent posted one single negative thing about our players save Roy Williams stupid mistakes. Our guys played hard tonight, but you can only do so much when playcalling and poor scheming hold you down

that fumble was much on the play call as Flozell screwing up, I still insist that Romo and Gurode didn't prepare for it

the routes were too long

Stop deflecting. I'm sick and ****ing tired of those of you who refuse to acknowledge the obvious truth and then throw up a strawman when confronted

What is obvious, is only so to you, and ONLY to you.

They absolutely do.

Look at the traffic counts after losses and wins. Telling.

You honestly think that I, a Cowboys fan since I was 5 years old and someone who has watched every game from our 3 SB titles to our 5 TD losses during the Campo era, want Dallas to lose? You really believe that?

I know you're smarter than that, and I know you don't believe that. Look at my posts over the years, I have handed out compliments as quickly as I have handed out complaints. You won't find one big win over the years in which I wasnt here posting about how happy I was. I find it insulting that you claim, with an honest belief or not, that I enjoy watching Dallas lose just so I can post negativity.

You said our players will never change.

You were wrong.

You say our coaches will never change.

Why should we believe you as if you were the indisputable fountain of truth?

There's a song in my head about a farmer who had a dog. I forget the dog's name.

That's cute

I'm still waiting to hear a defense of Garrett and Wade from you. What amkes you think they have what it takes to get us to where we want to go? What from this year or any other gives you that opinion?

Or are you just trying to give off the cool kid vibe?

I have never said we were a Super Bowl team this year. I want to make that absolutely clear. I have repeated at least a dozen times that we do not win Super Bowls in Miami. All 3 of our losses come from there.

Despite those feelings I don't wear a turban, read tea leaves, or gaze into a crystal ball and claim to know anything about the future.

That is why you guys aren't "realists." You rely heavily on the past, say that past success doesn't matter in the least, and discount every positive while praising the negative as if it shows your football brilliance.

I have repeatedly the last 2 years challenged the self appointed "realists" to actually wow me with their football knowledge since they always know the Cowboys fate. Not one of you have the nads to predict who actually will win before the season starts. You've got nothing but a history of negative feelings and a desire to piss on this forum.

Forgive me for lacking respect for these so called "realists" but I don't. Not one of you are the omniscient wizards you pretend to be. That's the difference. I talk about game by game progress. You make easy predictions and then thump your chests as if you actually knew something only to post like last week.

Surprise, we lose and you flip flop. Dude, I am not surprised. If Vegas would let me bet on this crap from you "realists" I would be richer than Bill Gates in a single season. You're all transparent.

False. I said the ultimate result under Wade and Garrett would never change. Player's attitudes are effected but not solely determined by their coaches. Yeah, I think a fiery coach would put us over the top, but I'd settle for one who can count to 20.

See, this is all I was asking for. I don't care if you are critical of me, I just wanted a reasoning behind your disagreement. It's pretty generic, but I'll take it. ;)

The only other thing I'll say is in response to this

That is why you guys aren't "realists." You rely heavily on the past, say that past success doesn't matter in the least, and discount every positive while praising the negative as if it shows your football brilliance.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Byt that definition, Jason Garrett and Wade Phillips are off the wall nuts, as are those of us who keep expecting their coachign to imrpove after all the past evidence that says it will not. Jason Garrett's "past success" consists of the first 12 games of the 2007 season. Since then, he has been so hit and miss it is maddening. Feast or famine, big play or turnover, etc. Teams figured him out, and he has yet to fully adjust in almost two full seasons. Wade Phillips "past success" involves him doing what he has done here everywhere else: Get off to hot starts, lose in december, and lose in the playoffs. After 20 years, no reason to think it's going to change now

Truth? Yes sir, I honestly believe that of a lot of posters. Note, I said "they" and you took it to mean "you." Feeling some guilt? Not my fault.

You want to know why I say this? Because after the win last week there were about a dozen of the regular complainers who were silent for days (yes days). It took a Jerry GM thread and a Wade bandwagon thread to get some of them to crawl out from under their rocks.

After a loss, here they are chirping, just like after every loss.

I said look at the traffic number hours after a loss and then do the same thing the same number of hours after a win. By all means check it yourself. Look at the active users right now and count the threads created in anger. Then do the same exact thing after we win for over joyed threads. The difference will either scream truth in your face or go right over your head.

...the denial is deep in the NFC East i'm afraid...spend enough time on each teams messageboard and you would agree...

...man...0 points on offense in 58 minutes of football?...Detroit was shut out but are we going to not hold this team to a higher standard...

...today was just complete and utter embarrassment for a team with a habit of such performances...
