I can't wait get home to see this video and any others connected to this interview. If none of them actually have saying what was quoted, I'm gonna be po'ed.

This wrongly assumes that the ESPN story is some sort of transcript of the video. The author would be very stupid to "cook" a direct quote knowing that the video doesn't back him up.

So did I. Was he not praising the team at every question? He said he was frustrated, but he was smiling and then he talked about the team being 5-2 and how excited he was.

:hammer:

I am confused. Perception is a mother.

This guy really is annoying.

he has been this way all year, just say nothing or just only talk about the overall production of the wr as a whole.

but he cant do it because his ego is too big and personal stats are as importabt as winning.

Really annoying guy.

Agreed.

If we were losing, this would be a bigger problem though. As long as we win it is not a big issue.

MacMahon is on GAC right now, and Galloway asked him point blank if Roy sounded disgruntled, like this could be the start of a problem.

Even MacMahon says no, that it was said very matter-of-factly and not with any tone of anger or resentment.

So this is all coming from GAC, presumably Ian fitzsimmons and Matt Mosely?

cause if that is the case, it is completely bogus. those two twirps are on air to cause problems.

I believe archer, if he says it didnt happen, then it didnt happen.

So how does he explain the title to his article? I don't get it. What did Roy do to him that he this axe to grind?

This all started with MacMahon's post on ESPNDallas.com... Galloway just had MacMahon on so he could explain the story and what the tone of the comments were.

BTW, as some of the others have said, Fitzsimmons (Mosley isn't on yet) said Roy talked for about 25 minutes, and finally most reporters wandered away. The comments the story is based on must have been said when only a few reporters were left.

MacMahon isn't denying he said these things, but it almost seems like even he admits it wasn't as bad as his article made it sound.

Watch the video. He even says that all he cares about is winning. And not in some feigned honesty where he's just spouting platitudes.

Boy ESPN couldn't wait to put this on their front page. I can't wait to see SportsCenter tonight when all the smiling turds on their will be asking Mark Sclereth about this developing story involving Roy Williams. ESPN makes me sick. They couldn't wait for a story like. 'Let's jump on it and make it a bigger story than it is'

Even if Roy did criticize Tony, it's not as disconcerting as if TO had made the same comments.

I seriously doubt Roy has the same influence in the locker room that TO had. When TO would become disenchanted with the play of his quarterback, he tended to rally people around him with the gravitas of his personality, and the locker room would split into pro-TO and anti-TO factions.

Roy simply does not have such pull.

I assumed as much when I stated, "I can't wait get home to see this video and any others connected to this interview".

Perhaps it would have been better if I had stated 'or' instead of 'and'.

At least they didn't sensationalize the headline like the OP.

It doesnt change for instance what I was saying earlier, that he is very consumed with everyone knowing how good he is and how problems are not his.

the week leading to the atlanta game he made it clear. He was so bad against atlanta though that he had to admit his errors.

he has been boo'd two weeks in a row at home.

I am glad this has been cleared up though. We dont people calling out the quarterback again or anyone else. This team is constructed to be a team.

So Roy was calm and composed when he threw Tony under the bus? Good, 'cause that makes all the difference in the world.

This is another case of reporters gone wild. Step 1, sensational half truth headline. Step 2, knee jerk responses from fans. Step 3, $$. Step 4, return to step 1.

Well, what you said earlier was technically incorrect before this, so it doesn't need to change what you said. You had implied that he didn't take blame after the Atlanta game. He did.

And I don't remember what he said leading up to the Atlanta game, but given that he hadn't played in several weeks due to the bye and his injury, I can't imagine he had anything to say.
