Brooks surgery was performed by the Cowboys staff. they know better than anybody.

But also, they are always the smartest people in the room. So they likely will do what they want regardless

It feels like most scouts consider Brooks and Trey Benson to be the RB1a and RB1b in this class.

After them, there is a drop off. There’s a few talented guys, but Brooks and Benson are the guys in this class that can immediately change a backfield.

If Dallas passes on them in the second round, there could be a run on RBs before their third round selection.
Look I'm a Longhorns fan I'm all for picking this guy in the draft but the fact is he's a red flag because of his injury we can't wait on a guy we need a number one stud at running back to come in day one and be the starter on this team can't wait for a guy to heal another second round pick why would the Cowboys do that when they do have nothing but listen to the fan base say don't take guys with red flags especially injuries and especially in the second round so if this guy falls to us in the third round yes but I think they shouldn't wait around and most likely get a guy at 56 that's as close to the talent level as brooks but somebody different take the best back on the board that isn't coming off a major injury or it's used up like the guy from Michigan I say no to him too now I might eat my words but I just don't think he's lasting more than three to four years in the NFL with all the mileage on his legs all the injuries he's come back from how many years did he play at Michigan like 6??

I mean he might be good for two seasons maybe 3 but you pick a guy in the second round like that no so those two guys have red flags on them already for me I don't know about the other guys that are in this draft but I hope the Cowboys do pick one in the second round but that doesn't have an injury concern or some kind of weird red flag..

Hope the draft falls our way but everyone knows we want Oline in round 1 and LB or RB in round 2. I foresee teams trading ahead of us.

Yes! Don't trade that 4th round pick....we could get another Dak......he was a 4th round pick. Imagine how boring it would be around here without him.
we piss 2nd picks away a lot, but that 4th rounder was critical we could have gotten a backup rb or special team players. we needed that 4th round pick. smh..

the two idiots we affectionately call "Harry and Lloyd," are even dumber than we all think; lol. Yeah, lets just announce to the entire 31 other teams our draft plans. The ineptitude and self-destruction of this franchise will continue into oblivion thru the endless Jones family bloodline, unfortunately.

I like Brooks. But I’m a little surprised more hasn’t been said about his knee injury which happened the second week of November last year. He tore his ACL and while I’m confident he will recover I find it hard to believe he’s even 90% by training camp.

The Cowboys need a RB who’s ready on Day one. Recovering from an ACL tear usually takes at least nine months. As of now, his rehab has been 5 months. Makes me a little hesitant on Brooks.
well said. Heres an idea, why not draft a RB thats NOT coming off a major injury? lol..This may not be popular but I have 2 names. What about a no nonsense Otis Anderson knockoff rb Audric Estime? Dude runs like a damn gazelle for a back his build. He is the epitome of a north south rb. MM has said many times he wants to become bigger and more physical running the rock, well here ya go big Mike. The other back is Ray Davis from Kentucky. I could care less about his age btw. Running backs don't last much past 3 years on average anyway. Just take him with the 174th pick and be thrilled. IF Im I am Dallas, I am double dipping at RB. RD 7, Im taking rb Dillon Johnson out of Washington. Hes the Demarco Murray, Eddie George prototype.

The track record on that hasn't been very good, has it?

Shoot, let's look at all the Cowboys' 2nd round scratch-and-dent specials this side of Sean Lee.

Bruce Carter
Randy Gregory
Jaylon Smith
Sam Williams
Kelvin Joseph

Are there any of those guys we ended up happy about?
Sam Williams might end up being the best out of that list. Kinda sad really, yet telling.

As much as I agree with you and Bob which I said the same thing please don't compare Eddie George to de Marco Murray people only remember Eddie George because he played for so long but this man was a under 4 yards per carry for most of his career he ran 2 upright he wasn't much of A breakaway guy DeMarco Murray while he wasn't the fastest guy in the world had much better moves and I believe was better than Eddie George he just didn't play as long... I don't want another Eddie George type I don't want a big lumbering slow guy but yes we need a big back they can also get you you know medium burst stuff we need another Ezekiel Elliot just a new one with less mileage on them or Derrick Henry type but if I had to take a DeMarco Murray I would... Like I said I just believe people forget how lumbering Eddie George actually looked yes he can get you 3 to 4 yards on a consistent basis but he just was very very slow looking and that wouldn't go very far here I'm not sure if hunter isn't on the same level lol... There are other backs so I hope we get a good one that can start day one... And be effective... Short yardage nice burst in medium range gains and in that way and whatnot but dude I'm serious I take another young less used Ezekiel Elliott right now...

Zeke overshadows DeMarco. I sure miss Demarco. Those were the days. He was a real deal dog at rb. Underrated. To me, he was more effective than Zeke.
