Oh he isnt awful. But he sure seems to lack vision a lot of the time

They showed a number of his runs this past season on NFLN and I certainly didn't see a lack of vision on any of those. He made a number of terrific runs out of nothing by using his vision and cutting ability.

Highlights will do that for a player. But in reality he left a lot of yards on the field.

He out rushed his closest competition by over 500 yards and we have people complaining that he left yards on the field. He led the league in rushing setting a franchise record in the process while receiving 2 league MVP votes and you're complaining that he left yards on the field? He also set an NFL record by starting the season with 8 straight 100 yard games but many can't wait to replace him with a 30 year old back that's been rusting from a year away from the game due to off the field issues. Murray gained a lot of yards he should have never gained by cutting, using his vision, alluding defenders and breaking tackles. Did you miss those plays? Amazing how many amongst Cowboys Nation are dumping on the guy after all he accomplished helping the team to a 12-4 record and a playoff win.

Im not dumping on him. Simply saying AP is better in the open field. LOL.

based on what the 1,200 he had in 2013, he is 2 years removed for the 2,000 yards and his numbers went down and he is not any younger. I think people are looking at old tape and thinking this is what they will get.

The running game is probably the most dependent position on the field.
. The Vikings have trended downward ever since Adrian DRAGGED them to the playoffs.

Offensive talent has been a wasteland there for a few years now.

You were also complaining about his vision crediting the highlights for making his vision look better than it is. Sure sounds like you're dumping on him. lol

He had a great season and he left yards on the field aren't mutually exclusive.

What back hasn't left a few yards on the field? He gained a lot of yards that weren't there making something out of nothing.

Simply disagree about all the yards he gained.

He got more yards before contact than anyone in football by a large margin.

You saw what a good back did behind this line it was great.

Excuse me for wanting to see a great one behind it.

A lot of the time it looks like he is looking for contact instead of open field. Im not the only one who has seen this

weren't you one of the guys who told me I needed to watch APs highlights? Only works one way?

Not at all. Highlights do show one major difference. Murray not running for home run TDs and AP doing the opposite lol

He had nearly 1,300 yards in 14 games, he missed two. Along with playing very little in the Ravens game that year.

If it wasn't for those two missed games, he most likely would have been right up there with McCoy with leading the league in rushing.

That's how it appears to you and maybe a few others but I don't see it that way with the cutback running style he has. He tries to avoid and elude defenders by cutting back and changing direction. He was more decisive this past season to reduce the negative carries he's had in the past. He lowered his head more in certain situations and took what he could get instead of getting cute trying to free himself by reversing field. He took a big loss vs Chicago attempting to get more out of a run than was there. He doesn't have a seek and destroy style he makes defenders miss but sometimes he'll use a stiff arm and run over a defender if he has to. All this cutting back and reversing of field is to try and get into the open field he's looking for space.

A lot of those yards before contact was due to him cutting back making defenders miss. Emmett gets disrespected because of the great OL he ran behind but he also could make defenders miss making something out of nothing. All I know is I saw Murray run for more yards in one game 4 years ago than any back in Cowboys history and that OL was far from great. He had other big games when the OL was still in transition but he couldn't stay healthy. One of the best runs Murray ever had was vs the Giants on opening night of the 2012 season he turned a big loss into a 48 yard gain. Peterson will have to prove he's still great after a year off facing legal problems.

This argument is getting old. Defend him all you want. We can agree to disagree, if you really didnt see him running to the sidelines instead of up the middle to hit someone then thats just bias. Its not just me. In either case. Murray/AP will both do amazing behind this line.
