if we had merriman he would go off! it would lift the other passrushers even more...and also due to his mean streak he has which ware doesnt...we would be on another level trust me...not hard to see...he isnt called lights out for nothing

He's a beast in training....Ware needs to break down the game film from San Diego games so he can attempt to elevate his game to where Merriman is at right now. :bow:

Glad to see somebody else on this forum recognizes this and isn't being a homer just because our front office failed to do thier job last year too.

Ware over Merriman, Busty over The Freak....if I was working for Jerry Jones we wouldn't be in this predicament right now. :banghead:

so why not get merriman and move him around like the chargers do? thats what he is good at...you get another olb that can cover like burnett in there and you are in business...we would be DOMINANT!

4 vs Oakland and San Francisco. 1.5 vs Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Ware got both of his vs Washington and Philadelphia, and the Cowboys had a contain gameplan on vs. Tennessee because of Young. That leaves the Texans whose QB we knocked about 10 points off his QB rating partly because of the pressure Ware generated.

Ware also has a touchdown. Defense is about teamwork as well as sacks, pressures, forced fumbles, and all around good play. We haven't seen the last of Ware this season.

Yeah...he's really torn it up since the three sacks against the raiders. :rolleyes:

But you are probably right, considering they play the raiders 2 times per year.

If we played the raiderettes then Ware would have 3 more sacks for a total of 5......what is the issue?

Todd Heap was quoted as saying he much prefers Merriman over Ware. ;)

The guy playing opposite Merriman has 6 sacks on the year. He is not the only player opposing offenses have to account for on that D. We do not use Ware like SD does Merriman. They should move Ware around much more often ... like they did in the Skins game.

I had Merriman graded...

ROFL!!!!!!!!!! :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Was this grading done in crayon on a big piece of poster board?

Yet another tool who thinks watching games on his couch is akin to scouting.

Out of curiosity, what his exact grade? What were the categories?

What did you give him in the hands drill?

It isn't ? But I watch a bunch of games and read stuff about the players on the internet.

Are you saying I shouldn't send my resume to NFL teams hoping to become a "couch scout"

Not true at all. Ware IS in fact two dimentional. He can not only rush the passer, but he can play coverage too! Something Merriman isn't half as good as Ware is at.

As for Lights Out. Sometimes his play causes light out for his team. Sort like Sean Taylor so graciously does for the Commanders. Going for the big hit instead of the tackle like he did in the Ravens game.

Ware = Joey Porter

Merriman = Derrick Thomas

Both excellent players. One more well-rounded than the other. I'd be happy with either.

The only team easier to sack than the Raiders is Daunte Culpepper.

he's at 5.5 sacks now compared to 2 sacks for ware...and will probably hit 12 or 13...ware probably will be right around 8 again...i dont think there will be any argument that we should have drafted merriman..he is a beast...teams are worried about him and they account for him like they do for roy williams...just think if we had two players like that on our team! bad move jerrah...should have drafted the better passrusher...he is a game changer while ware is just a good player...merriman will be great if he is not already...and i dont want to hear about this zimmer bend but dont break defense...i see ware rushing ALOT AND HE JUST CANT GET THERE...BOTTOM LINE

How many TDs does Merriman have this year?

He's represented by the Postons if I'm not mistaken. His great performance against the bottom feeders of the league look great on paper, but come contract time San Diego will wish they never picked him.

Merriman's pass-rush skills are overrated. He's obviously good, but his stats are inflated by cheap sacks -- of which he is the master.

I'd rather have Ware any day of the week. Character matters. Ware is probably my favorite player in the game right now. I couldn't be happier that we drafted him. It isn't possible. I don't care if some can't appreciate how well rounded he is as a player. Those who constantly look at sacks alone know less about the game than I care to address.

WE DONT need another linebacker to stop the run or cover...we have ones that do that...singleton, burnett....we need one who can destroy the quarterback BECAUSE WE ARE IN A 3-4 AND THE OBJECT OF THE 3-4 IS FOR THE LINEBACKERS TO GET TO THE QUARTERBACK...YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO COME FROM ALL SIDES AND THE OTHER TEAM IS NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHEN..WE DONT EVEN TRY THAT...WE LINE UP AND RUSH ELLIS AND WARE...AND NEITHER CAN GET THERE! SO IN THIS CASE FOR OUR TEAM I WOULD TAKE MERRIMAN OVER WARE BECAUSE WARE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE WHO WAS A SURE SHOT TO THE QB ON EVERY PLAY...
