Hahah your man crush for this guy has been well documented. You declared he had made the team after two preseason games. He's a decent player but lacks the range you need to cover guys at this level. Hope he makes PS. But nothing to piss and moan over him being cut.

Sometimes you guys are pretty fast at relieving one's own bladder...the statement was done in liking a particular player. As to talent, stay around long enough and hit target on more than a few ring taps on secondary players.

His future still remains to be seen...penalty hits or not.

It would be strange to keep a guy on your original 53 and then not want him on your practice squad.

It's one of those kind of years. Anything can happen with this roster and it won't surprise me. Reminds me of '89.

And this, my friend, is why we have zero depth when our starters go down. Our special teams coach has somehow convinced the front office that special teams make up 80% of a football game.

I would love to see the day where a team would invest into a kicker that consistently kicks the ball out of the end zone for no return and a punter that can directionally kick the ball out of bounds for no returns. Take the need away to go heavy w/ all these players that are specifically here just for special teams.

Heath is the personal protector and captain on the punt team as well as playing on other coverage teams. He was never going anywhere. You can hate that fact all you want but it's the truth for all of us to deal with.

When I saw this in the Star Magazine, I knew Heath or Randle weren't going anywhere. I am not a huge Heath fan, but don't understand the hate for the guy.http://i1355.***BLOCKED***/albums/q713/panchucko/PhotoSep01125554PM_zpsd3f10d1b.png

It's about what they did do. Which was obvious because of what they had done throughout preseason. You're obviously free to disagree, but if you thought they were keeping Dixon over Heath it was because of your own sentimental attachment to the player.

Again you miss the point in your desperate attempt to defend the worst run team in the NFL.

Nobody expected Heath to go before Dixon. He just should have gone before him. Ya know, if our top two personnel men were, like, legitimate and stuff.

Yep. Being a knucklehead can get you cut.
Yea let's keep players like Jeff Heath that can't play. Dixon may not be that good. but is darn sure better than a scrub like heath. heath being on this team is a joke.

I don't care for this move at all. I have seen very little positive play from Jeff Heath. He's terrible in coverage and takes horrible angles. At least Dixon can be a box guy, not sure what Heath can do. This is a poor decision IMHO.
Bingo. Dixon may not can cover, but he could at least hit. Heath can't cover or hit. he is flat out terrible.

Jeff Heath can't play a lick but hey lets keep him and get rid of the physical bad boy bc heath is a try hard "rudy" type.

Dixon is a liability due to his wrecklessness, but Heath is a liability because he's always flat footed when he plays Safety.

I'd rather have the head hunter at this point. Situational awareness can be coached if Dixon's worthy, Jeff Heath getting posterized on a consistent basis cannot be coached out of him.

Yup, I agree. This is coming from a guy (me) who did not like Dixon coming out of college and didn't like that we drafted him. After seeing him play, I thought there might be a role for this guy. He's a banger who's a liability in coverage...I accept that. What does Heath do well? I would love to hear JG's explanation.

I doubt we'd take charles haley if he was available today. Too much attitude for this soft bunch.

which play

You really want to me go watch our pre season games and chart his play? We'll just agree to disagree because I don't think I can stomach watching 4 games of Heathness.

Repeat: Ahmad Dixon was never going to get snaps on this defense. He was god awful in coverage, in a passing league. If someone goes down, we will bring in someone else. Dixon is like the 10th option for getting safety snaps. The dude is bad and will be out of the league after 2 years
