Dak in the wild card game versus a 8-9 Tampa team
25/33 305 yards 4 TDs

Aikman in the 1992 NFC Championship game against the 14-2 49ers

24/34 322 yards 2 TDs

Aikman the following game in the Super Bowl

22/30 273 yards 4 TDs

Did you watch Aikman play live during the Cowboys SB run?
You can’t compare these stats. Aikman had the all time rushing leader in his backfield. They ran the ball so much more, plus the game has changed so much since then.

I am growing tired of all these new Cowboy fans on the internet praising Dak and trying to discredit Aikman. Aikman is an absolute legend and watching him back in the day was an honor. I know some people here don’t like me and that’s fine but I think we can all agree that Aikman was a bonafide legend and had more guts than Dak ever had! Im old enough to remember the glory days of the Cowboys and I just want to see this team to return to their former glory. Call me a troll, I don’t care!!! I’ve even seen posts on here from people claiming Aikman wasn’t that good and he rode his team’s coattails. Aikman was a true Cowboy and one of my favorite Cowboys. They don’t make QBs like him anymore. Yeehaw!!

Thats because you dont understand team football. Let me ask you this................................

If Dak was surrounded by the team that Aikman had with Jimmy as the HC would the Cowboys get to the championship game in his career?
No . . . but you would still be happy with the 12-5 records and stuff like that

That depends. Would Dak throw dumb interceptions/make bad decisions under pressure? Until Dak wins a SB he will always be considered a JAG. Fair or not it’s how QBs are judged.
Im fully aware of how most fans over analyze qbs

That is not true. Aikman did nothing after the 3rd SB when the great players started to leave.

Even with Emmitt and Irvin still on the team, he never elevated another team to win anything. By the end of his career he had as near as many TDs as interceptions. Aikman was good on a good team, and is in the HOF because of that. But when the talent left he was average at best.
How many QBs in NFL history have won 3 or more SBs?

Not many.

Not even Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers.

How many QBs in NFL history put up playoff numbers like these during their prime?

“Troy Aikman had a passer rating of 106.3 with 2,915 yards, 21 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 11 games in the playoffs between the 1992 and 1995 seasons.”

He won his first 7 playoff games as a starter and went 10-1 in those 11 games.

“Troy Aikman had a passer rating of 111.9 with 689 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception in 3 games in Super Bowls in his career.”

People actually throwing Daks stats around during the Bucs game last year like it's gold and comparing them to Aikmans lolz

While he played phenomenal that game the bucs had no reason to even be in the playoffs. Offense line was in shambles, no run game, and injury ravaged
Yet they had our number and beat us first game of the year. Lead by tom brady. Which according the qb dopes is all that matters. Shouldn t brady have willed his team to victory? Like dak should have done in the niners game?

Aikman always saved his best games for the important ones.

At each level of the playoffs his QB rating jumped more than ten points.

At a practice, Aikman once split the webbing between fingers on a receiver's hand. When asked why he chose to catch it the receiver replied, "It was too late to get out of the way."

When Irvin was practically draped by two defenders, Aikman would hit him right between the 8's.

Does this sound like Dak? I love the guy, he's my quarterback, but he's a different type of quarterback than the 1989 draft's overall #1 pick.

When people compare Aikman to other quarterbacks they tend to look at, what we used to call, the "qualifying games". They are typically known as "the regular season".
The game where we really needed him was the SF game we got down big early. He didnt fare so well when he had to be the comeback kid.

Aikman’s playoff numbers during his prime are phenomenal compared to Dak’s who plays in a easier to pass happy NFL against less superior competition.

Cowboys almost came back even with Emmitt and the rookie Larry Allen both playing injured.

Eric Williams was out due to the car crash.

Do you remember the pass interference call not called on Deion?

Then Barry Switzer bumping a ref on the field?

Did Dak and his Cowboys play against loaded teams (like the 49ers) Aikman played against?

The top teams in the early 1990s and earlier were stacked.

Dak has not won a divisional round playoff game; even when Brock Purdy was the opposing QB.

Same as Romo.
Qbs dont win games, teams do.

give dak aikmans team and they would have been to 3 or 4 championship games already.

Definitely remember BS Deion non call.

fans that dont acknowledge or give credit or not to the surrounding team clearly dont understand football.

aikmans teams were far and a way much better than anything dak has had. Coaching as well.

to compare team success is laughable.

aikman wins zero sbs with daks teams. Zero

QBs definitely lose games. Like Dak in the divisional playoffs last season.

Dak still makes a lot of basic mistakes.

That is why he cannot win a divisional playoff game.

Dak cannot play well for either 1 or two playoff games each season.

He will need to play good for 3-4 straight playoff games to even have a chance to win a SB.

Aikman already proved he could play well for multiple playoff games. Hence 10-1 in his first 11 playoff games as a starter.

Thanks to the blind ref that didn't penalize Sanders for slapping Irvin's arm down just before the ball got there.

Apparently, they didn't need him for the three NFC championship games they won. Either that or winning three out of four wasn't good enough?
