No it literally isn’t about that. It’s about whether or not we are ok signing players with Domestic Violence on their resume or not. It’s not about Choir boys, it’s not about everyone has to be “good”. It’s about whether or not there are any standards at all for who we sign.
lol........ yeah Cowboys, go Cowboys.... boo Aldon Smith..... not possibleI will cheer for the defense as a whole but not for him .......just like Greg Hardy.
Come on Man and read the title of your post. We at least need players that will go to church on Sunday, sit on the back pew with dark sunglasses on, and get over the hangover.I’m not saying we need choirboys- never said it- never will. I am saying I don’t like guys on the roster with Domestic Violence recently on their rap sheet.
You make a compelling argument against his signing. I think it takes bit longer for most people to turn over a new leaf. If he can stay away from alcohol he might have a chance; lots of baggage and demons, though.First of all, I’m all for everyone in society getting second chances. People suffering from drug and alcohol addictions who make serious attempts to get sober deserve our support. But people with domestic violence problems are different, especially when it comes to putting them on a national stage like the NFL. Domestic Violence perpetrators need help, but they don’t need a roster spot.
Yahoo Sports ran an article last night on Aldon Smith’s incredibly long rap sheet. Below is an excerpt from that article:
Aldon Smith’s mountain of legal issues
Here’s a rundown of the long list of off-field issues Smith has encountered since entering the NFL:
This list makes Greg Hardy look like a choir boy.
- arrested in Jan. 2012 for driving under the influence
- stabbed in a house party in June 2012, was later charged for illegal possession of an assault weapon from the incident
- arrested in Sept. 2013 for DUI and marijuana possession after a single-vehicle accident, later left the Niners during the season to enter rehab
- arrested in April 2014 for a fake bomb threat at Los Angeles International Airport, later suspended nine games by the NFL
- arrested in Aug. 2015 for DUI and hit-and-run, was released by Niners a day later, then given year-long NFL suspension
- arrested in March 2017 as the passenger in a DUI after a collision with a police car
- sentenced to rehab in Sept. 2017 for the 2015 DUI
- arrested in March 2018 on charges of misdemeanor charges of domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism after his fiancee called 911 and said he threw her around the room, bit her wrists and drank two bottles of tequila before fleeing from police (he later blew a .40 BAC)
- released by the Raiders two days after domestic violence arrest
- arrested in March 2018 for violating a court order to stay away from his accuser
- arrested in April 2018 for violating his bail
- pleaded guilty to charges of false imprisonment and violating a court order in domestic violence case in Nov. 2018
- arrested in June 2019 for DUI
As I said in the beginning of this post- second chances are good. But for domestic violence? I want the Cowboys to win as bad as anyone. But not without at least some level of respectability.

Or you could just read more than the title. Then change your thread title lol.
Best QB in the leagueSorry, but April Fools day was yesterday.
I do not want him as a Cowboy! one more screw up by Aldon and Zeke is suspended for the year.
This is literally in the thread: This list makes Greg Hardy look like a choir boy.Or you could just read more than the title.
Gregory is younger and I believe more in shape and more devoted to succeed. Smith jumped at a lifeline. Probably surprised he got an offer.Dude is probably in quarantine like the rest of the NFL so it will be hard for him not to stay clean. I don't like the guy and he hasn't played in years. I have the same expectations for him as I do for Gregory.
Smith is 275 lbs. and 6% body fat.Gregory is younger and I believe more in shape and more devoted to succeed. Smith jumped at a lifeline. Probably surprised he got an offer.
They are reporting he's 275 with 6% body fat. I don't dispute Gregory is in great shape, but unlikely he's in more shape.Gregory is younger and I believe more in shape and more devoted to succeed. Smith jumped at a lifeline. Probably surprised he got an offer.

Greg Hardy beat the stuff out of that girl, was arrested for felony drug possession (cocaine), and had an arsenal of illegal weapons. Smith struggled to stay sober.
Hardy is legit a bad person. Smith struggled with alcoholism. So, no, he doesn't make Hardy look like anything.
I know I’m free to disagree with your opinions and did accurately post about them. It’s pretty simple you either believe in second chances or not not all this I believe in second chances but not on the roster business. There is only one reason you wouldn’t want them on the roster if you believe in second chances.I’m scratching my head wondering where I said that. Unless you’re just assuming that’s what I meant. I tried to make it clear my problem with all this is the domestic violence he has on his record. If you want to quote me on that and say I’m against signing guys with DV, then fine. That’s accurate. Saying I’m (to quote you exactly) “all for second chances unless the person makes a lot of money then they shouldn’t have second chances”, is inaccurate.
You’re free to disagree with my opinions. Just make sure you’re accurately quoting my opinions.
