I already know who I am voting for. Go Kris. I may even vote for a change. Go Kris. Beat the Screamer!!!

I was surprised at the lack of people at Adams home coming. Some gal decided to go streaking. I guess she hasn't gotten the word he doesn't swing that way.

It's been done a bunch. It reminded me of last year or whenever it was, when one of the contestants did a rock version of Billie Jean and everyone was praising it for how original it was, but it was a carbon copy of Chris Cornell's version.

Okay, the chick who sang in the Elvis stripper outfit, Katie Perry...that is what it means not to be able to sing folks. She cannot sing a lick. That sucked.

The two worst performances I have seen on this show this year were her tonight, and that Lady Gaga thing a few weeks back. Talk about 2 girls trying to be Madonna and looking ridiculous in the effort, there they are. I am no Madonna fan but she makes these wannabes look stupid.

The results...I lost my two favorites back to back weeks. Allison and Danny were the two I have been hoping for even though it has been obvious to me from the outset that Adam is the front runner.

Adam or Kris? I'll root for Kris, but I'll be shocked if he can beat Adam.

Of the 6 performances last night, Danny's "You Are So Beautiful" is the one that stands out to me and is the one I will remember. But it's a popularity contest and always has been.

No he doesn't. He may not be "the artist", or the "one with the pipes", but he can sing, just like Allison before him.

exactly.

From you, that's taken as a compliment.

Yeah, except for the fact that I've been in the business of promoting artists, both Christian and secular for years.

She is not my cup of tea by any wild stretch, but I disagree with you on this. She is a good singer and entertainer and I understand why she has fans. I am not one of them. I wouldn't go see Madonna if I won free tickets to a show. However, I will give credit where it is due. The chick last night and that Lady Gaga thing...I don't get.

What gets me is the judges applaud them like they are great because they are obligated to do so. There is no way you can tell me that the girl last night sings better than Allison. No way in hell. Allison has an alluring voice. That chick last night was like listening to someone in the shower. She has made it because of something other than her voice.

Just once I would like to hear Simon critique someone who has made it who come son the show and sucks. If he liked that Gaga thing or last night then he did so because they have nice bodies and faces. No way you can convince me that he enjoyed the music. Even the performances with all the schmaltz were stupid.

I don't know, I've never heard Madonna really belt out a tune. I think there are singers and there are entertainers and very rarely, you'll find someone that is both. I'd classify Lady Gaga as an entertainer and I think it's fair to say you're probably not the audience her handlers are targeting.

I think probably 99% of the people that go on Idol are just singers, Adam hasn't made it so far and gotten all this hype because his vocals are the best that have ever been on idol, it's because he's dramatic, he's an entertainer.

What is Simon going to say to one of those performers that has already made it, it would come off comical since they already have legions of fans. It doesn't mean everyone likes them, just like we both don't like Madonna, but someone obviously enjoys her.

Dead spot on. I have seen many people who can sign, who just are not that great to go see in person. One of the things I encourage artists to do is find a way to be entertaining while singing. Most of the folks who are starting out don't understand that. They are all about the song. While that is indeed a major component, it is not the major component.

If you want to look at the epitome of someone who was both an entertainer and also had great signing ability, IMO there was few better than Elvis Presley. Ask anyone who actually went to one of his shows and they will tell you he was a great entertainer as well.

Garth brooks was a great entertainer as well in the Country genre.

But in the end, the ones that will last will be the ones who can combine both on stage. Artists make a ton of money with record sales but their real money comes in the venue bookings, and if you can't draw a crowd, then you can't make the big money. Record sales are a tool to drive people to the shows in general, especially for new artists like these guys on Idol.

Elvis could REALLY sing. He didn't really show it on his rock songs as much as he did on his gospel albums.

in the '80's, on her second album, madonna did a cover of rose royce's hit "love don't live here anymore". she belted it out good on that one. too bad she didn't showcase her voice more often in that way. but she was an excellent singer anyway. just a bit on the trashy side.

Jordin was awesome last night! Katy Perry blew...

I'm happy with this top 2. I've liked Kris and Anoop the most since the beginning so it's good to see one of them in there. :)

The question isn't whether you've been in the business, but whether you've succeeded in the business.

It shouldn't surprise me for as long as I've been on this board. But sometimes it does still surprise me how arrogant some posters are in declaring their OPINION correct and someone else's OPINION incorrect. As if them believing it to be correct makes it so.

And music of all things is one of those subjects that seems to bring it out.

Well, I guess that's open to interpretation.

You don't stay in it long if you are not.

And I said that because you said Gokey sucked.

Truth is, he is a much better signer than Adam.

"Sucked" is open to interpretation. He can sing. He just screams too much. He provides no dynamic. It's all raspy screaming almost all of the time. And that gets old.

He's perfect for Christian rock/pop music, which is probably why you like him so much. In mainstream music, I doubt he'll have a career at all.

He will sell more projects and have a much longer career than Lambert. And that will be in mainstream music as well. And If screaming is something you don't like, then Lambert is definitely not for you.
