Anderson Cooper gay?

I hope not.

But it will be interesting when the first active Dallas Cowboy player annouces to the world they are homosexual.

Some will take it in stride.

Others...

Not so much.

I'll say the same thing I said in the 90's when the Aikman rumors were going around.....as long as they win I don't care

No a professional would always make the story about the facts both sided of the fact and allow the reader or viewer to make up their own mind. It is about removing yourself from the story completely and any personal bias you have. His being gay or straight should play no role in it at all, if you truly are dedicated to your profession. If you are an architect should how you design buildings be based on your sexual preference? How about a doctor? Should he treat patients based on his sexual preference or his medical skills?

As for Copper personal life that is what I think it should be personal between himself and his friends and family.

Reporting and architecture are two completely different things.

Reporting involves tons of decisions regarding what stories to report, what aspects of the stories to report, etc. Being 100% impartial is a ridiculous ideal and no one can be 100% impartial.

Sure they can and have before. The reporter should never be part of the story if he is then he is failing to do the job. Plain and simple your views should have NO PART of a story evidently for the vast majority now days but it is.

Which is yet another reason why we should not splash it all over the news as normal. No wonder kids are confused.

I don't judge, and I don't hate, .. but I will never compromise the Truth because some sector of society is accepting.

I understand where you are coming from. I don't dislike Cooper because he is gay. I dislike the gay behaviour that he participates in. My reasons are based on morals and they will not change just because others don't share the same morals. Moral views are more liberal than ever which I disagree with.

Anybody with half a brain already knew he was gay, and I will never understand why this **** matters so much to some people. Who Anderson Cooper sleeps with effects absolutely nobody but Anderson Cooper.

No more warnings! Keep politics out of this discussion.

I gotcha.

It's a discussion about journalists though and he's a journalist. It's not like we were having a political debate. We were just discussing if he would have an effect in the political world.

I don't care if he is gay or not but what I find funny is that you have been calling this a shiny metal instead of his name for 8 pages and no one has caught it yet:laugh2:

Really? Cronkite's views on Vietnam had nothing to do with the stories he reported?

Fascinating.

I think it matters to a lot of people.

I could care less.

But if it didn't matter you would have many active pro-athletes admitting that they were homosexual.

And that not a single one has spoken out... says a great deal where the country is at when it comes to accepting someone who is homosexual.

2) And they know what they are doing is wrong, why do you think it is so important for them to seek everyone's approval, acceptance?

this is why people make such a big deal about "coming out". It's people that hold this kind of opinion.

Do you think it's a choice?

I don't think it is so much about this country as it is the nature of sports in general here or elsewhere.
