Anthony Spencer Signs With Saints

Well it kinda was.

2013 was wasted because of it.

2014 he was not very good.

Yep he got to play a little more.

After 2 seasons of being the "Franchise" player all he needed to do was wrap up a typical 2013 season for himself and he would have had a nice 3-4 year contract with someone.

Yeah I was going to say, without that injury if he had played really well in 2013, he would have had a nice contract. He lost money because of it for sure.

I m not good at lip reading. Help me out, he aint saying "almost" does he ?

Does this add to our calculation for compensatory picks?

Yes, but the fact they signed him does not make it a given we get a choice. It does offset some of the other acquisitions we got in terms of numbers, I think we have signed three less than have been lost.

What's up with all these teams signing our defensive players?

It is almost like they chose to ignore how ineffective it was. And they are mostly by teams that played us or will play us this coming season.

Never thought he was all that special. Wasted draft pick, IMO.

He had one pretty good year and a lot of mediocrity otherwise, especially since he was opposite of Ware in his prime and could have been more productive.

I can understand signing a backup DE from a good team, like Seattle or Detroit. But not us.

Depends on the contract, I believe it needs to be over $1 mil to qualify. But if so, I think it may get us back to the 3 or 4 pick level possibility.
4 is max no matter how many FA's you lose I beleive,
