Are you kidding me?! The Iggles are pretty good as are the Commanders but the Giants are one of the worst O lines in the NFL and one of the worst rated LT's in the game is protecting immobile Eli's blind side. The only thing that scares the hell out of me with the Giants is their receivers and that fast TE they drafted but none of that matters when they can't run the ball and we'll be all up in Eli's face everytime that sloth tries to throw the ball. Mark it.

Errrrrr.....

...I don't believe Zeke to be a woman beater...I think he faces an uphill challenge against Goodell ...Goodell has way to much power...albeit granted by the league's reps...and yes I think it hurts the Cowboy's image...and image that needs to be cleaned up!...I believe the best Zeke can do is get a reduction in suspension to about 3 games...Plead his case the best he can, accept the results....and move on ...like I posted in another topic..."One day will not erase you from the memory of time!"....good luck Zeke...and Go Cowboys...

My question to you is why do you care? Its time to kick these byzantine elites in the NFL to the curb. Romo is gone. Manning is gone. Brady is soon to be gone. Belichick is old as the hills. Who wants to be part of the NFL anymore? Other than to get paid? And hope you don't get brain damage in the process.

Just suspend them all. Indefinitely. The nation would be a heck of a lot better off.

I didn't really have an opinion on it until the Commissioners decision. I'm not as dug in on it as those who totally believe his innocence which most I've seen are Cowboy fans,

I'm an old diehard fan that realizes there's going to be some element of poor conduct by the players . My uncle played, was a college booster along with my father so I understand the elements involved in recruiting and drafting questionable characters who are highly talented to hep you win.

A big difference in this generation is the information available almost instantly . The power of knowledge and a 24/7 media and internet with social media that magnifies everything often spinning it out of control. Back in the day we didn't have that access and issues were often swept under the rug not discovering until years later . Unfortunately knowing is everything and once we gain this we must react now. Most everyone has their line in the sand.

Like the NFL I've drawn the line with Domestic Violence. It's one of those polarizing issues that sparks public and activist interest . And I support the NFL's policy on DV. While I agree and understand there might be some rush to judgement and getting it wrong sometimes the process does allow for taking a breath and re-evaluating before a final decision has been rendered in the appeal process .

The NFL owners in negotiations with the NFLPA has empowered tremendous powers and wide latitudes with the Commissioners office to enforce the Personal Conduct Policy which can often render judgements and decisions that go beyond our criminal justice system which is naturally going to draw criticism in these sensitive matters.

But the NFL appears determined to at least present a perception they're intent on being tougher on Domestic Violence in an effort to protect their image amongst the Networks and Sponsors who ultimately retain the power to withdraw financial support. With the new sponsorships owners have now with their stadiums this is of increased concern especially considering this new revenue is not part of the players share.

And the last segment the NFL wants to spark is special interest groups and activist that could lobby Congress challenging the NFL sacred exemption under the Anti Trust protection.

I understand to most fans they just want to enjoy football games and take all of the politics and business out of it but the NFL is much more than a football league it's a multi billion sports entertainment business . As always follow the money trail.

Players live in a bubble now and are going to need to take extra precautions in who they associate with and where they go with their lives under a microscope. It might not be the life choice everyone wants to make even if their passion is playing football.

It's a sacrifice I certainly wouldn't want to make. The NFL has not always been the monetary reward it is now. Some of the players I grew up with playing in the NFL was a part time job earning less than the poverty level now. But today a player in 5-10 years can earn tens of if not hundreds of millions to set themselves and their families up for life. But with it comes huge sacrifices in their lifestyle and demands on their bodies.

Playing in the NFL is not a right it's a very special privilege and one thats heavily influenced and supported by financial and public interest. Celebrity status has always been a socially demanding sacrifice for fame.

The good news for athletes and NFL players specifically is these restrictions on their lifestyle is only for the duration of their playing days while they're fame may continue throughout their lives still enjoying financial rewards from endorsements and business related investments and interest.

after greg hardy and some of jerry's other moves there is not much image left to worry about
Whew you are so right ... I mean I couldn't believe Jerry had the nerve to have players like Thomas Hollywood Henderson .. or Dexter Clinksgale , Rafael Septien, Larry Bathea , Bob Hayes , Harvey Martin and Lance Rentzel to name just a few .. oh wait .. Jerry didn't own the team with those players ? Didn't they Taint the image first ?

My point is NFL players have been making mistakes for years .. it just didn't start since Jerry Jones bought the cowboys... if anyone would take the time to research history they could pull up stories about many players from many teams that would truly make you cringe .. it doesn't excuse them or today's players but let's stop acting like stuff like this hasn't been going on for years .. it's just reported and players are punished more now than they ever were..
look up North Dallas Fourty

Read about pro players who were child molestors , drug addicts, dealers , pushers domestic abusers .. it's sickening

True , there's always been an element of questionable behavior in sports .

Remember Landry released great championship contributing players like Hollywood Henderson , Duane Thomas on drug issues and Lance Rentzel on criminal domestic issues that weren't mandated by the NFL.

The difference this era is the power of knowledge . Knowing is everything and knowing now requires action. And with the influence of the enormous amount of money comes sacrifices and expectations with social issues . Domestic Violence is currently a polarizing issue .

We also didn't have the financial influence back in the day either. Before 1973 and the NFL Blackout rule all home games weren't even televised . Being a local back then you had to attend games which I was a season ticket holder for most of 4 decades if you wanted to see us play. The new Blackout rule begin televising home games if they were sold out 72 hours in advance within a 75 mile radius. I recall many fans driving south to Waco to watch some of the games .

My uncles first contract was only 10,000 a year in 1961 with a 1,000 signing bonus which was not enough to even move his wife and infant daughter to Green Bay. He didn't play long because he had a better offer at home to get into the insurance business where he made his fortune selling Life Insurance to athletes and wealthy businessman. Gave up a career in NFL on a championship team under the most famous coach in NFL history for greener pastures in private life.

Playing in the NFL was a part time job for most players . I recently ran into an old Packer player who was showing me his Super Bowl I ring that he's had valued at about 250,000 which he says is more than he earned in over 10 years in the league.

You wanna know what's really tarnishing the Cowboys image?

Over 20 years with no Super Bowl championships
Funny but true .

The Cowboys aren't the only team with players who are tarnishing the image of the NFL . They just have had the most bad boys in recent years.

Being the most popular and visible franchise certainly adds to the exposure not to mention an owner who is not only publicly supportive and sympathetic to his " rock star " athletes conduct but has lobbied the league to lift mandated Marijuana drug test so his bong hitters can play .

Personally , I've been a Jerry Jone$ critic for his entire era so I believe and would argue his risk and intentions to continue these risk , how he's determined to run football operations and the culture he's created is an obstacle, hindrance and handicap for our team despite whatever more positive aspects he's contributed and feel he's deserving of any attacks and criticism . I'd like to see the league take stronger action against teams and owners or whoever is making these personnel decisions to further curb or deter.

This isn't all on the players . If a player has a history coming in then it's on the franchise for taking the risk . I'd like to see suspensions taken on front office , owners and coaches and possible lost draft picks .

The cowboys haven't had a good image for a while. People always think of thugs, criminals and drug users when they hear the cowboys name.

Lol, sorry man, ~2 hours of sleep at work. The Giants D obviously scares me the most, probably all of us but I'm very optimistic our geeat O and improving D will balance that out. Both of last years games could have gone either way, I don't see them catching lightning in a bottle twice again. Their D will be about the same, still very good, and our offense will be slightly better.

I was laughed off the boards and criticized for saying this before Zeke's suspension even came out but I said if he was suspended, I'd rather have it be at the beginning of the season, even if that meant against the Giants. My rationale, which I stand by, is if we have Zeke Garrett may try the same strategy...run, run, run which may or may not work. Without Zeke they will hopefully be forced to "think outside the box" and get more creative with the play calling by attacking the Giants defense weaknesses (ie the linebackers, slants, screens, etc) that have worked for us in the past. We need to go back to doing what worked when we were consistently beating the Giants.

Also, even with our suspensions I think our D line will be more than prepared or at least adequate enough to beat their horrendous line by stopping the run and getting pressure on Elijah so he won't have time to expose our young secondary.

The Iggles concern me much more this year than last and the Skins less than last year. Even though I was only able to see part of the first O and D play it was a beatutiful thing. Fortunately I didn't need to have much time to see our first TD! I'm crashing hard fellas. Stay tuned.

It's tragic to see thoughts like this.

We've been told that we shouldn't bring up Thompson's lying to police, witness tampering and extortion talks. That's 'victim shaming.' However, those things are directly involved with the incident at hand.

Yet, when it comes to EE it is perfectly fine to discuss that he has a speeding ticket, was at a bar where witnesses claim he didn't throw a punch, and that he pulled the top down of a girl he was dating...all of which have nothing to do with the Thompson case.

The hypocrisy is is extreme. The hypocrisy is stunning.

Here's a crazy thought...all 22 year olds are not grown up. They still have a lot of learning to do and wisdom to gain.

A guy like Josh Brent tarnishes the image of the Cowboys. A guy like Joseph Randle tarnishes the image of the Cowboys. A guy like Rolando McClain tarnishes the image of the Cowboys.

A guy like Ezekiel Elliott exposes the ignorance and hypocrisy of those that support Tiffany Thompson. His situation exposes that despite the Duke lacrosse scandal that only happened 11 years ago and despite so many of the Crystal Mangum supporters saying they were 'sorry' for making the Duke kids guilty until proven innocent...not a single one of them has learned a damn thing and in reality...they were never truly sorry. They just wanted to sound good.
