Why? Why? With their current crop of receivers, how does Maclin, a JAG, possibly improve them? Throwing money down a bottomless well would be my assessment.

It seems unlikely:
He will get a decent offer somewhere. His base with the Chiefs was 9.75M.
He is 29 years old.
The Cowboys already paid TWill enough to say that they expect him to be a starter.

On the flip side, he's probably better than Dez as a #1 WR. They could dump Dez with his 13M base salary and upgrade for cheaper. Maclin has had to play with far inferior QBs.

Maclin past 3 years:
Rec ..... Yards
44 ….. 536
87 ….. 1,088
85 ….. 1,318

Dez past 3 years:
Rec ..... Yards
50 ….. 796
31 ….. 401
88 ….. 1,320

...see there...Dez had 2 more yards....he's the man!...lol
I vote yea....we can use him!

Just read this article. I'd rather spend the money of the Dline, but wouldn't be opposed to having a decent receiver. He's better then Twill. Then again that's a lot of receivers to carry on the team, but I'll let the GM worry bout that

Maclin would be amazing. This is why I was not for resigning Williams. Plenty of quality veteran receivers available every year in FA. Maclin is head and shoulders above Williams. We might not even miss beat if Dez went down and he had to be the #1 guy. Williams disappeared when Dez went down. Has a hard time beating one on one coverage.

First of all, Maclin is far from a JAG. He walks and wins WR2 because he is better than Butler and TWill.

Maclin is a dependable receiver and who can still excel at a very high level...agreed.

Maclin isn't better than Bryant, but he's better than the rest of the guys we have on our team. Lining up Beasley, Maclin and Dez would be a nightmare to stop. I absolutely take a flyer on the guy.

We need a pass rusher (if we're gonna spend, and that should be looked at next year.), not another WR.

Especially one that may cost $5-7 mil AAV, and probably looking for ~3 years.

I'd pass, but that's just me. We have a solid group at WR.
Lack of a pass rush is the glaring hole.
I'm hoping a healthy Tapper and the new-blood Taco can help some, but a real QB wrecker would be nice.

And if we get a guy who can get 20 sacks in one season, and Dallas wins the Super Bowl this year(YES,YES,YES,), someone on this board will say this guy is no good against the run and want to get rid of him !!! :lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao:

Sounds like Maclin's a bit overrated here because of that last big year in PHI and that big contract. He had the HAS in 2015 and the groin issue last season that slowed him down a bit. That's probably just regular NFL wear-and-tear, but it's always hard to be sure. He's a better receiver than Terrence is, and they're probably comparable blockers pound for pound, though Williams is a bigger guy.

Overall, he's be an upgrade, but probably not one worth what he'd likely cost.

I'm happy with our WR situation right now. Why can't the Chiefs inexplicably cut a decent DL or something?
