At some point, Dak has to take a look in the mirror!

I agree, I know everyone leadership style is different but Dak needs to cuss out the WRs if they're lollygagging.

If I'm a young guy on this offense I'd be looking at the current cluster bleep as an opportunity to take hold of a position and make an impact...vets aren't really stepping up.

2016 Dak was a dynamic, tough, playmaking leader who took care of the football. He was on a fantastic contract for the team.

2024 Dak looks exactly like an aging Drew Bledsoe without the arm talent. He is on one of the worst contracts in the history of pro sports.

He didn’t have to put up near the numbers in 2016 that he did the following years because he had such a good team around him. That team was so good it set a franchise record with 11 consecutive wins and tied a franchise record with 13 wins. That team had the NFL’s leading rusher and an all world OL that was arguably the best in the entire league. All Dak had to do was manage games that season. He only attempted more than 40 passes once and it led to a loss. Comparing the 2016 team with the 2024 team is like comparing Rosie O’Donnell with Miss Universe. You’re completely lost if you can’t see how much better our 2016 team was than this team. Zeke and our OL is a shell of what it was in 2016. Zeke is washed up and we’ve had issues on the OL all season. We have no running game and our defense is terrible. We’re only six games into the season and Dak has already had a game where he attempted more than 50 passes. He’s having to carry the team. Try opening your eyes.

He has to say to himself, i'm the highest paid player on this team, I'm the leader of this team. I don't need to talk about what needs to get done, or becoming better every week, I need to step up my play. I've been in the league far too long, the Jones family has been great to me and have given me and my family generational wealth. It's time for him to find something deep inside of him and say, I'm going to pay them back for what they've done for me!!!! Please give your thoughts on this!
My thoughts? Another attempt by you to troll this board.

Two words, Salary Cap.
It is a simple mechanism, but some people refuse to admit its existence.
Jerry could have freedom up 20 million extra, under the cap, if he signed Dak and Ceedee earlier. He simply pocketed that money instead

2 word...greedy owner

As for the salary cap? This FO refuses to manipulate it the way the best teams do.

Precisely. Dak Defenders incessantly point to defense for losing games, and it does indeed have issues. But the offense is crippling it....no rest no points. Like our defense has to battle both offenses and that is no win situation.
The rest excuse only works in the latter part of the second half. The offense had 9 plays on both the first two drives against the Detroit. The defense had plenty of time to rest before the start of the game and after the offense held the ball for 5-10 minutes wall clock time on both its first two drives. . Even if the offense did not cash in they kept the defense off the field for an extended period. The defense responded by giving up a 70 yard TD drive on Detroit's first drive. Followed by a 58 yard FG drive on the second and 63 yard TD drive on the third drive of the first half. We can beat up the offense for not putting up points but if the defense is getting "tired" after one or two drives by the opposing offense then the Cowboys need a new strength and conditioning staff.

Yep....my man Starfan already scolded me for the "rest" thing.
didn't intend on making soft excuses for the D. Neither O nor D can seem to inspire each after the punch in the mouth.

It's kind of nonsense to suggest he isn't doing those things. Does anyone really think Dak doesn't want to get better and isn't trying to become a better player?

The reality is every player has limits on how good he can become, no matter how much he tells himself he needs to be better, and works at being better. If all it took was telling yourself you need to be better every QB would be Tom Brady.

As for talking about what needs to get done, or about getting better every week, that's part of the job. Players, especially the high profile ones, are expected to interact with the press. They are supposed to be available to help maintain fan interest in the product

Frankly I do not believe anyone on this site knows or understands what Dak thinks. To make statements as if you do is simply an emotional outlet for your disappointment in the results of a team wrecks by the Jones'.

sorry Bro didn't mean to scold you if that what it was. This place has gone downhill fast and i cant stand about half the posters mindset because its so negative in here. You're one I feel like I can still talk to.Its only friggen week 7 and I get our schedule don't look promising but I think things are going to get better,

I'm also sick of dak receiving 90% of the blame because of his salary. It really shows a lack of football understanding. If the first 6 weeks of football your (not you just fans in general) takeaway with this team is its Dak thats the weak link and the biggest reason were 3 and 3 you probably don't have any business talking football.

I remember preseason predictions and many had this team at 2-4 or worse.I actually had them winning against NO,losing against Detroit and Cleveland, and Baltimore , winning against the giants and pitt. so I was thinking 3-3 before we played any games. I didnt anticipate blowouts but its football sometimes when the momentum gets moving its hard to stop it.. Anyway should we lose to San Fran were 3-4 there's no reason we cant beat the Texans and falcons. and if we go 4-2 in division at worst which no one scares me.

Im going to remain positive till there's no reason to

Frankly....we don't know or control much of anything. Some really good technical folks here for sure....but it's just a place to chat. Nothing we say changes anything.

All good. I'm a dramatic fella and try to use the most dramatic words i can....all in good fun. You can see I'm the type that can accept ....corrections and admit faults. :) . I actually appreciate oversight and levity.

Usually the season goes by quite swiftly but I feel this could be a long season for us. It's not like we're in an anomaly., or just a few changes away.

I really can't comment on this site because I'm often an accomplice.

:rolleyes::laugh:.

I do try to moderate it with some good fellowship.

Did you play defense? Bc it seems you need a lesson on how much further a defense has to run and energy required to play on that side of the ball.

This isn't about the defense being gassed. It is about the offense doing anything when the game is on the line before they have to become one-dimensional. If they were just able to put 1 drive together and score one TD in those 20 minutes of the first half, we could have kept the Lions from scoring a TD late and gone into the half down 20-13 instead of 27-6.

Instead they gained -1 yard on 4 drives. And this isn't the only game.

Against the Ravens, we were down 14-3, what the the offense do? Fumble, 3 and out, 3 and out, before a short field goal drive right before the half. Then they start the 2nd half with a punt then a turnover on downs. By that time the game was all but over.

Even in the three wins this offense disappeared for long stretches.

We have invested 50% more salary on our offense than our defense (40 million more this season), they should be controlling the TOP and limiting opponent opportunities, it's where we spend our resources. We are literally built as an offensive team.

We have the 4th most expensive offense in the NFL this season and they are ranked 29th in time of possession, 14th in yards per game, 21st in points per game, and 31st in giveaways (one away from last in the NFL).

We have the 25th most expensive defense in the NFL this season and they are ranked 24th in yards, 29th in points per game, 29th in time of possession, and 21st in takeaways.

We are looking at both sides of the ball as if they should be equals, but we really should be looking at the fact that we are a spend-heavy, offensive-minded team. It is what we have been for years. And right now it isn't performing close to where it should.

The defense sucks. Yes, they do, but given the resources spent on the other side of the ball, the offsense should be doing what it's paid 4th highest in the NFL to do; hold onto the ball, and sustain drives, not gain -1 yard in 4 drives over the course of 1/3 of a game. I won't even mention scoring, because they aren't getting in the end zone, 30th in thr red zone. I thought that was where you boy was supposed to shine? So much so they didn't use him in that role the week before.
