USC still has the national brand with 11 national championships. And UCLA and Oregon and others if could run the table with undefeated seasons would be in the conversation. Ducks had an opportunity this year after beating Buckeyes but blew it.I personally believe the Big 12 is a more desirable conference than the PAC 12 and is somewhat of a threat to the ACC with the new additions. Among the newcomers are a few very good programs that will benefit from the recruiting bump you get in a Power 5 conference (BYU, Cincy, and UCF come to mind). I went to every University of Colorado home game this year and wow the level of play has declined precipitously. PAC 12 schools really are not getting highly touted recruits anymore and the talent gap is growing. In the Big 12 you do not have a certified blue blood like Oregon in the PAC 12 anymore, but I think that Baylor, OK State, and Iowa State are poised to take the next step.
I agree Big 12 has an opportunity to move up the ladder if PAC 12 can’t uplift themselves while I think they have the bigger brands . And ACC has been basically a non factor without Clemsons recent success.
If you’re not in SEC or Big 10 you need to be undefeated.
