Bill Parcells on Mike & Mike... Cancelled

Testaverde's QB rating was 76 in 2004 with us. He sucked. We were at least hoping of developing someone who didn't suck.

Well, Jerry's handpicked successor to Aikman that he reached for in the 2nd round kind of left Parcells in a bad spot after testing postive for drugs for the umpteenth time, so Parcells was forced to make lemonade out of lemons. But Parcells gets credit for playing the guy who would had a brighter NFL future than the other guy everyone wanted to see play, even if he was 40 years old.

The otherside must be the Antonio Bryant/Terrell Owens/Derek Ross side. The choirboys that gets along famously with all their coaches?

I could easily give the link where Curtis Martin gave Parcells his MVP Trophy, because he considered Parcells the father he never had. But then you would just dismiss it and say he was just saying it for good PR, like you've accused Romo and Newman of being liars.

So essentially what you're admitting is you don't have any facts to back anything up that you've said.

I never called anyone a liar, I just threw out the possibility that they may not be telling the entire truth. And if not telling the media the whole truth makes you a liar, your boy Parcells is the biggest liar of them all.

They're just walking on eggshells...for a coach they no longer play for.

Did Testaverde suck or not?

Oh no! Not the f-bomb! What other hardships did Little T have to endure while collecting 8 million dollars from Jerry Jones?

NFL Head coaches swearing on the sidelines...this is brand new ground.

What do you think about this entire situation, Lawrence Taylor?

Only reason I brought it up is because either you or Roshi claimed he never barked at Owens on the sidelines because he treated him differently than other players.

He did.

But not as bad as Henson would have sucked. At that time. And the year after that. And the year after that. And the year after that and on into infinity.

So there is absolutely no question Parcells worked with what he had and played the better player ... for the immediate and for the future.

If you could find the link where IR said that, it would be helpful (because I certainly never said that.)

Parcells clearly gave Owens special treatment. Miles Austin would have been yanking that Lance Armstrong jersey out of his ***. That doesn't mean Owens never caught a good talking-to.

Big time. But he did stop Jerry's QB merry go round with VT,
We now have a pretty good QB since we groomed one the proper way.
Who knows where we would be without doing so.
Jerry couldn't do it.

It's in this thread, if you are really going to argue that it wasn't said, I'll gladly go find the post and link it for you...

Parcells ruined Henson. I believe this has been scientifically confirmed.

It also bears noting the influence Romo claims Testaverde had on his career. These old has-been FOBs were brought in, not because they were amazing talents, but because they could set the proper example for young impressionable athletes by training in the offseason, not going to basketball games and dancing with the stars.

In any case, as you mentioned - I'll take Bill's has-beens over Jerry's Never-was's anyday.

Go for it. I don't believe anyone said Parcells never barked at Owens on the sideline. I do remember a case being made that Owens received preferential treatment while here - and that is clearly true.

your missing the point. testaverde was a guy that parcells brought in as his guy. he was one of the legion of suck. had we not brought in one of his guys perhaps they wouldnt have sucked.

really of all the people he brought in the only one that didnt suck was Anderson who was quite good actually.

even Glenn was awful. he gave up those two Moss TDs in that Wash game and was consisntently getting beat if not for sniffing on slants 4 times a year.

Im not saying that he wasn't good for the team. he brought in a work ethic that this team needed but he was unable to adjust to the modern game and his personell decisions were plain bad.

Maybe he brought in the VTs of the world to set the tone for the work ethic needed. Campo and switzer sure didn't have it.
You have to set examples for the young guys.

What ever it was it worked.
