Bob Papa: Burress Is “Deathly Afraid” Of Going To Jail

Four;2790569 said:
umm no, he should be punished in a matter constructive to society.

it only costs us money for him to rot in jail

if he can change one kid's life for the better it is far more valuable

It costs money to put other people in jail for a lot less too,.. but that's ok cause their not celebrities?

This is how you stay out of Jail...

DON'T BREAK THE LAW

laws aren't changed by people, they are changed by politicians, it's a pipe dream to say that we matter as an individual. We don't.

Guys like burress matter to kids because of his celebrity, we can use that to make positive changes, or we can get caught up in politics and rhetoric and send him away for 3.5 years.

I don't honestly understand the other side of this argument, makes no sense to me.

I'd love to take a guess as to why that is but it would probably get me banned...

go ahead, I am as liberal as they come, not the norm here, and I think most side with you on this.

the guy could help society out here, myopic opinions aside, the guy could make a huge difference out here. He could, period.

he will do jack all in a jail cell, on what planet does that not make sense to you?

Politicians are people and they are influenced by interest groups all the time. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying f you don't like the law then do something about it or try to. If a law is in place, whether you like it or not, you must abide by it or suffer the consequences. Your opinion of the law does not stop you from doing time.

The reason why people like Burress do stuff like this is cause they think they're above the law cause of their celebrity, not holding him accountable for his actions will only confirm this, and only make him more of a risk to the public.

you know why there's gun laws? to keep people like Plax from running around with loaded guns and having accidents

dude, he was scared of getting killed, his teamate was just robbed at gun point by his limo driver.

he did it because he was scared, not because he thought he was above the law.

for the love of octopus, be logical about it and stop putting some bias to it because you don't like celebs.

in a fairy tale world we are all equal, but in the real world we aren't.

using burress to positively impact kids lives is far more valuable than putting him in a cell.

his celebrity can contribute to the greater good.

I don't get how you don't see it.

I feel him though. In Rykers Island they will tear his *** up. The Island is were the real criminals are.

I was waiting for that justification, surprised it took this long to come out.

I am going to go drive my car around the block, it will be a miracle if I don't run someone over.
That's a bit extreme. There are millions of cars on the road every day. Are there millions of fender benders, hit-and-runs, vehicular homicides, etc., each day? Of course not.

Firearms aren't toys. Neither are automobiles. If there are individuals who intentionally misuse either of the two and someone gets hurt because of it, punishment is justified.

Punishments are defined by law. The law stipulates that Burress should be incarcerated. His attorney(s) have attempted to bend the legal ramifications facing him in his favor.

Sounds like he's treating the legal system in the exact same way as he treated his gun--in other words, carelessly. It's hard to feel sympathic for someone who has done wrong and then proceeds to thumb his nose at the harshest punishment recommended by law.

That's idiocy personified. He can share that 'worldly' mindset with his own self in my opinion.

Shooting yourself in the leg is punishment enough.

When most people are scared of a situation, they don't enter. The fact that a loaded gun made him brave enough to enter is the very reason we have laws and law officers to enforce said laws.

I'm afraid of driving in bad places at night or day. So I take the freeway. I didn't go buy a gun, load the gun and then drive through the bad places.

There is no such thing as equality in this world. It is a myth.

So Plax is a role model now. What fairy tale world are you from? This is not his 1st criminal offense.
