Politicians are people and they are influenced by interest groups all the time. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying f you don't like the law then do something about it or try to. If a law is in place, whether you like it or not, you must abide by it or suffer the consequences. Your opinion of the law does not stop you from doing time.

politicians aren't people, they are part of the power machine.

people can't change laws, I am very bleak with my views but I truly believe that people stopped mattering a long time ago.

It's about pandering and money now, the governor or mayor, whatever he is, in new york is trying to pander to voters, the judges will fall in line because their job rocks, justice is a myth nowadays.

the almighty dollar rules.

in a fairy tale world we are all equal, but in the real world we aren't.

using burress to positively impact kids lives is far more valuable than putting him in a cell.

his celebrity can contribute to the greater good.

I don't get how you don't see it.

You just said that it's no big deal that he carried an unlicensed gun around so he shouldn't get punished....

How is that going to positively effect kids.... If he didn't do anything wrong by your reasoning, then there's nothing to make an example from. What you're not seeing is there has to be a punishment for the motivational speak to work.

You wonder why they bring in those teenagers who killed somebody by drinking an driving into schools and public forums? It's because they were punished for their actions... they're an example of what not to do. If you let Burress walk away with a slap on the wrist you're only going to encourage the action even more, not positively impact a kid.

The only example he can show is "don't shoot yourself in the leg" most sane people already know that.

So Plax is a role model now. What fairy tale world are you from? This is not his 1st criminal offense.

so you think he isn't a role model huh?

you think kids in the ghetto aren't watching what they do to him and thinking that "the man" is to blame.

he is a role model, it's how it works with society, rich black man that made it, easy to eat that up for poor kids.

government trying to bring him down

this doesn't play well in the hood, I live there, I should know.

This just in, if you are willing to carry illegal firearms into nightclubs and manage to fire off a shot then you ARE a threat to society, albeit by stupidity and arrogance,,,

I never said it wasn't a big deal, the guy shouldn't go to prison when he could absolutely be used as a positive change maker.

He screwed up, but the justice system is screwing up just as much if you sned a guy like that to prison.

That does no one good, no one.

Threat to society??? A sexual predator can get a year for child molestation. A guy who shoots his self in the leg gets 6 to 8 months?? What is wrong here?

Just becasue kids (any kid) watch him, doesn't make him a role model. My grandson likes Spoonge Bob, and wants to eat Crappie Patties. Does this make Spoong Bob a role model. Should I let my grandson eat Crappie patties. Even though I've yet learned how to make them!

They also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of their lives, basically making them an outcast from society whereever they go.

How? it hasn't so far, his celebrity certainly didn't keep him from breaking the law or thinking he was above it.

Do you have any idea how stupid you look with this ******** argument?

What is wrong here is that you are trying to argue one point by complaining about something else.

So you are saying this arrogant, gun-toting fool isn't a threat to society,,, now that's a bit silly,,,

They do the same to convicted felons. It doesn't stop they from committing crimes. Same with the Sexual predators. They get out and do the same thing. Whats your point???

So you know the guy personally to know he is arrogant???? Come on now. I know a couple gun toting fools out here that are worse than plaxico. Its one thing to own a gun for protection. Its another thing to own one because you are a thug and want to shoot people for respect.
