you really think burress is a threat to society or you hate him because he played for the giants?

The guy screwed up, he has a bullet hole in his leg to prove it.

Don't send him to prison when he could do a hell of a lot more good out here.

literally he is going to do more time than vick did, you really think that is justice?

The law is the law - end of story.

Oh so that isn't true. The rest of it's fine but the fact that they're reporting he turned down a deal isn't true. Gotcha. So you'll cherry pick what works for you.

That's a stretch different than what you said before. You said you're a rich white kid who now lives in the ghetto. At no point did you say you're now poor. You passed it off as if you're some rich kid who just decided, for whatever reason, to live in the hood. As if you were trying to get the other view in live.

no I didn't you took it that way.

I live where I am because I am cool with it.

my folks still have money and still don't understand why I live where I do.

it's not about getting the other view man, we are all people, no more no less, just people.

some of us screw up, some of us don't

plax did something very stupid, there is no need for society to do something equally stupid just cause we can.

sorry but it isn't end of story, black and white attitudes like this aren't helpful.

yes or no, could plax help more kids on the street or in prison?

mandatory sentencing is really stupid, and doubly so in this case.

That guy could turn a bunch of kids' lives around just by telling them how stupid he was.

nothing you can say will sway me from my opinion that he could change lives out here, he can't do **** but read a book inside.

Unless the information being reported is totally inaccurate, his attorney(s) had managed to greatly reduce the amount of time which was mandated by this particular law. If this is correct, he would not have faced the provisions required by the mandatory sentence anyway.

ok, doesn't really matter to my point.

The guy does no good to anyone in prison.

Turnips and oranges. Altering your physical state with a substance and carrying a weapon don't apply. Nice try Norway...

Not really both are stupid choices that increase the risk to people around you, and both are illegal for that very reason.

As dumb as you might think it is, there's a lot bigger chance of accidentally shooting someone if you carry a gun then if you don't

The fact that Plax had an accident doesn't matter, the choices he made that lead to the accident does.

He knew or at least should have known the risks (Ignorance is no excuse) and did it anyways

And since when is a self-inflicted gunshot wound considered a "mitigating circumstance" in the perp's favor?

wow that people really think all law breakers are the same.

dude shot himself in the leg, I would feel pretty secure if he was on the street.

And I would feel freaking awesome if a judge forced him to tell his story to a bunch of kids, even if only 1 listened, it's worth it to me.

The same statement applies to every person in prison. People don't go to prison to be useful

The most probable outcome is that he will not be incarcerated for an unreasonable amount of time. It will negatively impact his future income potential, but if he has planned well, it will not destroy his financial security.

As far as his observers are concerned, they will shall either learn from his experience or they will not. In the end, it is up to the individual (especially adults) to make intelligent decisions based upon the successes or failures which impacts the lives of both themselves and others.

they go to prison to make people feel secure and safe, when it's all a myth.

Plax isn't a "criminal" dude screwed up, and has bullet hole in his leg as a result.

I won't ever be OK with good folks going to jail cause they were stupid.

you won't ever agree with my view, it's cool, the world needs differing views or it would get pretty boring pretty fast.

Burress was a victim of a shooting. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, his shooter must answer for his crime.

Karma.

He'll have plenty of time to serve soup to the homeless and read to the blind once he gets out of the joint. In the meantime, feel free to pay him a conjugal visit.

here's a thought.
I don't know, call me old-fashioned...
if you're going somewhere that you feel rquires you to carry a gun for your own security...

I don't want my taxes to pay for his time in jail, I want my taxes to pay for crap that matters.

dude is a sacrificial lamb for the state, I am really tired of that garbage.

the government isn't here to tell me right from wrong, it's here to protect me, this entire thing is politicking.

and it's all stupid stupid stupid, on both sides.
