I am the law!

not using a celebrity to help impact kids is stupid.
yes, it's special treatment, but dudes like plax can help a kid find the right path.
It's way bigger than some law, I want people out there helping, not in a cell doing no good at all.
Doomsday101;2791806 said:Your opinion it is a stupid law but it is the law and if broken then that is the price you pay. As for helping kids give me a break all you are doing is letting a celebrity get a break that would not be given to others of less stature. If Plax wants to help kids then he can do that after he gets out if he truly wants to help others, if all you are doing is giving him a free ride then he will do it but all for the wrong reason.
Four;2790431 said:no they wouldn't
lawyers are paid very well to do what they do, it's a money thing.
I wish plax the best and don't think he should do time, I mean for cripes sake the guy shot himself in the leg.
That's enough, imo.
Four;2791812 said:thing is man,it's not about any of that.
if plax can put one kid on the right path, it is worth it.
I am a teacher, I can't reach them all, never will, but if I reach one, it's a big friggen deal.
he can't help inside, and "the man" wins.
I don't see the good in him being put inside, I just don't.
whether he wants to or not plays no part in whether he could help kids get their minds right.

Doomsday101;2791852 said:If he cares about putting a kid on the right path then he can do that when he gets out if he is doing it because he has to then it is nothing but a load of BS. He is not special and deserves what anyone else would get for the same crime and it is a crime regardless if you agree with the law or not. Evidently you must think kids are stupid because the only thing they will get out of it is that if you are well known you play by a different set of rules than everyone else.

those 3.5 years would better serve society if he wasn't sitting in a cinder block room with no windows.
doesn't help a soul, and a guy like plax will walk out of prison saying to himself that he "has done enough time"
he won't help then, not at all.
we can use his celebrity or we can be foolish with the power we have now.
I am pretty tired of us being foolish. I want the guy to do a service to society, he owes us, he can't do a thing in a cell.
Why can't he do both?Four;2791925 said:we have a finite life, I wish we didn't but we do.

SaltwaterServr;2791540 said:You are so far off it isn't even funny. If he walks into a club, even with his controlled handgun license, and shoots himself in the leg anywhere in Texas he'll do jail time.
SaltwaterServr;2791540 said:New York has enacted these laws to protect its citizenry from idiots like Plaxico. Many of those faced with the same infraction of possessing an unregistered firearm are only prosecuted for charges that do not include mandatory jail time.
SaltwaterServr;2791540 said:The fact of the matter is that Plaxico was in a crowded public establisment, drinking (brings us back to the DWI mentioned earlier) most likely, and fired a pistol. Of all the great luck in the world, he only shot himself.
Any *ing idiot that brings a pistol into a nightclub where he/she will be drinking needs to have their head examined.
Four;2791081 said:drugs should be legal, again, if it was legal it would hurt no one but the user
Seven;2792235 said:Wrong. Carrying a weapon, concealed, in any state without a CCW, is illegal.
As it stands, your permit obtained in New Mexico will not be valid in the state of Indiana, let's say. There are currently four states allowing the validity of the CCW to be transferred across state lines.
No you don't...............read my above factiod. KNOW your laws before you decide on who get's what. Half-cocked liberals................jack of all knowledge, master at none.
We aren't conversing "illegal" weapons. We're explicitly on the subject of "concealed' weapons. Without a CCW. HUGE difference.
Half? Seriously? Wow. FOUR for president!!! Kinda catchy actually..........
What is a controlled handgun license?
Possessing an un-registered firearm is a whole different gig from carrying a weapon concealed, without a concealed carry weapon's permit. The punshiment would be far worse if one decided upon combining the two. But I guarantee you they'll hit you with both for the original offense.
You nailed this one, brother. CCW or not...........use your head!!
Not one post with accuracy concerning why Plaxico was charged. He was carrying a weapon concealed without the permit. All the other charges compound. Shooting himself, etc.
i.e. - 1) You smashed into the house.
................You are driving without a license.
....................Your drunk,
.......................high on meth and
.........................what is that white crap all around your nostrils?
I have yet, in my short-lived life, read anything that was more wrong than this statement. I'm really at a loss............Seriously.
You wouldn't happen to refer to a drug dealer as an "unlicensed pharmacist' would you?
Apologies for the semi-off-topic rant. I become concerned when the discussion on weapons escapes so many. There is a truth out there. If you own a weapon, find that truth and represent with responsibility.
In all of this, folks like Plaxico gives us responsible gun owners a bad rap. The guy can't even bring himself to carry one responsibly, much less use it correctly. He SHOT himself, Mr. Four. If all that ain't a threat to society, I do not know what is.
