Ugh...makes my stomach churn. I bet Miami's willing to part with a 2nd for Austin.

Procter and Hurd are very surprising, since that money is guaranteed and I don't see either one of them making it through camp.

well procter is the backup center though also, so that is what will keep him around.

We had better not lose austin.

Obviously, I'm wondering if Hurd/Proctor now have guaranteed contracts.

Hurd is a solid 5th receiver and good special teams player. Everyone knows we can't have to many of them. I would move Austin to the #3, Hurd #4, draft a rookie, and cut Crayton and maybe Stanback if he can't beat the rookie out by now.

PROCTOR?!? Are they out of their ****ing minds?!

Talk about stealing money, holy cow. Did they really think someone was going to try and steal him from us?

guys. All this makes sense. WE got 4m extra cap room today and we used up 6m in total leaving us 8m. We were never going to be big players in FA.
This allows us to keep our options open for draft time. If we let Proctor go now everybody would know we were looking for a centre/guard in the draft.

None of this money is guaranteed and we can push them out the door anytime we ant with NO CAP HIT! Its called keeping your options open!

Offering Tenders means very little other than trying to protect your assets.

But then again...is Procter a asset? :)

Nothing is guaranteed....and if some team does put a offer in we can always match and if not......a 2nd rounder comes in.

The only player I can see someone throwing cash to is Austin....and really how much are teams willing to throw at a unproven player?

That being said....we could match a good offer to Austin (which will probally be heavy backloaded) and release Owens next year. Players like Procter....Hurd can also be released this year and replaced by players that will eat up less cap money.

Nothing is set in stone yet......

This is all part of Jerry's plan. He's going to package Procter and Carpenter to Miami for a 7th rounder.
