Or it says a hell of a lot about Gregory...
I guess we'll see, won't we?
Or we can just continue to make grumpy assumptions... that's fun too.

Should I not be grumpy about a 7 time loser, wasted 2nd round draft pick? Maybe we just all applaud him. Collins is out indefinitely with a foot, and Irvin is gone for at least 4 games. Please tell me what is there to be excited about on the Dline? Its all falling apart again before the season even starts. And training camp hasnt even started. More injuries coming no doubt. One more major injury on the Defense and we will be one of the worst units in the NFL. Lee goes down and we will be.

Woooohooooo!!!! Go Cowboys!!!!!

And who are we depending on the save the day? Randy Gregory!!!! Yahhh!!!!!!

Pretty sad of you think about it. A guy out of football for almost two years that has failed 7 drug tests he thinks can come right in win the job? And thats with a first round pick in his 2nd year competing with him? Doesnt say much for Taco or anyone else at the DE position.

I don't see it that way. I just see it that Randy Gregory has special traits and abilities. Abilities that few other players have.

That's not a knock on Taco. The fact is that Gregory possesses rare attributes. Abilities that at one point had him being talked about being the #1 overall draft pick that year. The failed tests are the reason why the Cowboys were in position to draft him at all.

But because he has some traits that Taco doesn't should not imply that Taco sucks. I think that they're entirely different defensive ends. Charlton, like Lawrence, is more of a power/technique guy, while Gregory relies more on speed and rare athleticism.

hes played two games in two years. Its not like he has been practicing with the team. To expect much is a little ridiculous. He will be out of shape and most likely get dinged up with injuries because of it.

Not ending buddy, just more of the same BS with the Cowboys. Another day, another year in the sad world of Jerry and clappy the clown. LOL

But by all means keep clapping along with glee. Ill try not to ruin your dream.

This is a little more reasonable than your "sky is falling/all hope is lost" previous post.

He's also been working for several weeks with a former pro who had over 100 career sacks. Isn't that a positive?

And he'll have all of training camp to get in even better shape. And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all of the players in that same boat? Getting in shape during training camp? They haven't played football for 6 months either.

You are usually very realistic about things. But I guess Gregory is just popping your bottle eh? I hope you are right. Sixshooter got all excited last year about guys like Heath and the secondary only to fall down later on when the season started. Hes about as realistic as it gets.

My last post included the fact that Collins is on the PUP list and Irvin is suspended. Do any of those things disappoint you or do you just let it all slide by thinking everything will be great?

Yipppeeeee!!!!

The fact that you think Garrett clapping his hands is somehow significant doesn't really help convince me you are being reasonable. The Cowboys can't take back the draft pick, so I don't see the problem with giving him a shot to redeem himself. If he does, it's a bonus at this point, and if he doesn't, the Cowboys are no worse off than they were before he was reinstated.

Oh goodie. Hes been working out for a few weeks in the last two years. Wow, he should be an all pro. NO, what happens is when you come to training camp out of shape you get hurt. And the other guys have had OTAS and what not. Are you serious with this BS you are shoveling me?

Of course it disappoints me they will be out, but that doesn't somehow make Gregory a bigger issue, and it doesn't mean the sky is falling. Every team has to work through having people out, and it doesn't have to spell doom when they are.

I agree that Gregory is not a certainty to help, but what is the harm in seeing?

Clappy the clown does NOTHING. Especially we are getting beat and he keeps clapping. TD, he claps, pick 6, he claps. Its a process. LOL

Its just a nickname clappy, try not to get all tied up. Gregory coming back is great. But I laugh when I hear people anoint him already. They do the same sheet every year. Lawrence was a nice out of nowhere surprise last year.

Who said there was a harm is seeing? Who said the sky was falling? Thats all made up exaggerated BS you came up with. I only speak the facts and my disappointments in the reality of those facts.

This is nonsense - it's making an issue out of a non-issue. Clapping is a habit and something he does for emphasis, whether to emphasize approval, or a need to do better. It trivializes actual issues to make a big deal out of something that has no bearing on coaching ability.

There is plenty to base a real argument against Garrett on, primarily that he hasn't got the job done he was hired for, and the team hasn't developed any year to year consistency. To focus on trivial nonsense undermines that.

By the way, I'm wondering how you saying "Gregory coming back is great" jives with you previously ranting about him being a "7 time loser" and "wasted draft pick". We all know he's been a disappointment, but most of us feel it's reasonable to comment about it without having to be a jerk to another poster.

I'm in my optimistic part of the year!

Just wait until the season gets here and Garrett and Linehan blows a game or two!
