Everyone was hating on the guy when he was being bounced around and expected to cover for 5 minutes, while the guys up front couldn't pressure the QB. They thought just because he killed in the combine, he should be Superman....or they thought because he came from UConn, he couldn't run with the big dogs.
I've liked him from the start, and I'm glad to see him changing minds.

Byron said everything is simplified now, he just shuts down his man with technique and athleticism, he can match up with the best of them.

Crazy to think they were considering possibly not exercising the 5th year option.

Is there anyone who seriously prefers Byron to Ramsey or Peterson?

He covers close, and deflects balls pretty well, but doesn't really compete for them well. Just had that ball bounce off his chest to Heath.

He reminds me a little of Terrance Newman. He doesn't give separation, but you can throw it in there anyway without a lot of worry about him coming down with it. Eventually, teams figured that out about Terrance.

We'll see. I'll put his as a good but not great corner right now.

yes, Peterson is overrated. I have seen him lose quite a few games for his team. Still very good, but overrated.

I want to agree with that, but I don't think you can say that. He doesn't get interceptions, but he is in position, and knocks down a ton of balls. I don't know the stats, but I would like to see where he ranks on balls batted down. Having your hand in position to bat down a ball is a ball skill too.

My only complaint on Byron Jones is he never gets interceptions..its so weird
