Campbell had a 0.0 rating on passes thrown more than 40 yards downfield. Romo's was 118.8.

On passes thrown more than 20 yards downfield, Campbell had the league's worst completion rate (16.1 percent) and one of the lowest passer ratings (53.4), while Romo's completion rate (34.4 percent) was eighth-highest and his passer rating (81.5) was 12th.

Sooooooooooo what are u trying to say here exactly Adam??:)

Campbell is going to be exactly like Quincy Carter, he'll give you a 50 yard strike right on the money while rolling right in the pocket on one play, then the next play he'll hit a linebacker in the chest with a ball.

Interesting point, however:

Romo's INT rate: 3.9
Campbell's: 2.9

Someone said it earlier, it is really an incomplete comparison at this point, Romo has two more years in the league with all four years being in the same system. Give it a couple of years and see what happens.

Teams were probably more worried about stopping Betts, while no team really cared about having to stop Julius Jones. Campbell was playing with nothing to lose and everything to gain, and the Skins O-Line is a tad bit better than Dallas'. For the sake of argument.

Are you serious...I've watched most of the Skins games stuck here in Richmond, VA. Believe me, Campbell is not very good...he's so far behind Romo, Young, Leinart, and even Cutler it's not funny. His stats and decisions stink...he has no consistancy at all, and under pressure he doesn't deliver. His passes sail high over heads and bounce off the turf regularly.

Alex Smith made great strides this year, so anything is possible, but going only on what I saw this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Brunnell beat him out again in the fall if he's healthy. No way can the Skins put all their hope in Campbell.

Don't worry...Campbell will probably end up a better QB then McPuke...

(or he could end up like Quincy Carter)....

who has shown more ability so far?
Comparing them two who has more potential?

Anybody who looks at the numbers would have a hard time believing you asked that question... look at quarterback rating, completion percentage, yards per attempt, passing yards per game, and above all else, won-loss record, and you'll easily see that Romo was FAR superior... and Campbell had the better running game and the better defense going for him...

Which might be why only one of them was voted the NFC Offensive Player of the Month, and it wasn't Campbell...

:lmao2:

Apparently you have been watching a different team and QB then....because everything I've seen indicates that Campbell is going to be a player in this league. He has a rocket arm, can buy time in the pocket and is a big boy.

Stop hating just because he plays on the hated skins....this kid is for real believe me.

Oh, and by the way, there is no comparison of Romo to Campbell.

Romo is heads and shoulders past Campbell.

Th Commanders have relied on the run and thrown only when necessary when Campbell has been in there and he has done Ok with good protection.

The Cowboys have put everything on Romo's back while abandoning the run and he has put up numbers and wins and has the equivalent of a 4000 yrd season with a passer rating of 95.

There is no comparison!!!

I agree with this. In my mind, Romo is way better than Campbell, and he get's his first, and our first, playoff win in 10 YEARS this Saturday!

Haha yeah he might 5 stars. I would like to see what Campbell can do with an offseason training with his WRs.

Campbell's also been good. I saw him in the Week 17 Giants game, and he played very well.

Against a team that had the league's 28th ranked pass defense... one that allowed an average of 228.1 yards per game, didn't get a lot of sacks (and was missing their star pass rusher)...

Against them, a 220 yard effort (that's what Campbell threw for in that game) is average, perhaps even a little below average...

Not a bad game, not a great game... the thing is, it was probably his best game all season...

rocket arm...yes, though he's a slinger, not a quick release, and he struggles sometimes to get it over the DL.

mobile....yes.

but if you think you saw something impressive, you are missing the mark...take a look at the stats in those games...not good. his completion percentage is not good, and he didn't have big games...they really protected him and handled him with care.

Against Carolina, he truly sucked....he was something like 7 of 19 for less than 70 yards total passing until the final possession of the game when he completed a 15 yard pass to Cooley who turned it into a 65 yard TD, doubling his passing yardage.

I've seen his games, almost all of them, and I'm thrilled at the prospect of facing him twice a year...the guy is NOT accurate, that's a fact that game announcers and local reporters on channel 7 here talk about all the time. He's a good kid and a cool customer, not easily rattled, but he's not a great passer...a strong arm doesn't fix that.

seemed to get worse as the season came to a close while Campbell looked to be improving.....I guess we'll just have to see what happens an revist this comparison in a few years.

And yet, over the last 3 games of the season, Romo went 59 of 90 for 741 yards, 5 TDs and 4 ints... a quarterback rating of 91.0...

Meanwhile, Campbell went 47 of 85, for 584 yards, 4 TDs and 1 int... a quarterback rating of 87.6...

And the ONLY reason the numbers were that close was that Jason only threw 1 interception in those 3 games, compared to Tony's 4 (not turning the ball over is the one thing Campbell did best)... when it comes to completion percentages, Romo was clearly superior (65.5% to 55.3%)... same with yards per attempt (8.23 for Tony, 6.87 for Jason), and net passing yards per game (227.7 yards per game for the Boys, 190.0 yards per game for the Skins)...

It also bears mentioning that Romo was sacked 10 times in those 3 games, Campbell was sacked twice...

I'd say that other than doing a better job of protecting the ball, Jason Campbell was clearly inferior to Tony Romo over the last 3 weeks of the season... at least, I'd d*mned sure rather have Tony on my team going into next season than Jason...

How many 2 minute drills did Campbell execute?

Considering that we've been in every game since Campbell started I'd just like to say that i like what ive seen from Campbell. Sure his accuracy isnt his strong suit right now but I would think an offseason training with his WRs will help that.
Theres no reason we should even be comparing these 2 QBs right now. Romo is in his 4th year in the same system, while Campbell is in his 2nd season with a 2nd offense he just learned. While we have the better running game, which helps a young QB, you guys have more offensive weapons which also helps a young QB. Maybe this debate should be brought up next season.
