I thought about this a bit. Hardy called the friggin police. On the call you can clearly hear him saying I want her out of my house, she won't leave.
She sound scared to you? Then in the parking lot when she could have left she still didn't. Guess she was fearing for her life.

Try reading it again then. When he had his buddy restraining her from going anywhere he was on the phone concocting a story that he thought would keep him out of trouble. It wasn't her that told the police what happened. She tried to cover up for the scumbag. It was the neighbor that called the police and reported what was happening blow-by-blow. That's why the scumbag got in trouble to begin with.

Maybe where you come from, or how you were raised this kind of thing is acceptable, or the norms. Where I come from you don't touch a woman. Where I come from we urge women to arm and protect themselves, so if these situations crop up and their lives are threatened they can put a bullet strategically placed between the eyes.

And FYI, the neighbor said she heard a commotion (that was consistent with Hardy's version of events) and admitted in the hearing she didn't know what had happened but just assumed Hardy was the aggressor.

And if this were another man other than a Cowboys player, it's a good bet that most of this forum wouldn't be as passionate about this subject.

Furthermore, equality of personhood is not the same as equality based on physical prowess and physical attributes.

Women and men are equal in terms of personhood within our country. They are not equal in terms of physical prowess.

The law takes into consideration physical prowess, i.e., you cannot use maximum force if you are a 6'5 280lb man trying to defend yourself against a 5'5 120lb woman. Unless that woman has a sword or has you trapped in a corner with a meat cleaver, you cannot use maximum force against her because the law assumes that you could get away or use minimal force to extract yourself from the situation.

And this is only reasonable. As I've shared on this forum previously, I had a girlfriend who scratched and clawed me, drawing blood. All I did was told her I wasn't going to purchase a gift for her mother because that's something that's personal that she should buy for her mother.
However, I did not retaliate because I was physically stronger than she. I only held her off of me. And I didn't create bruises on her arms.

While I've changed my position somewhat regarding whether Hardy beat her, I believe he did put his hands on her and not merely to restrain her. And because of his size, I can see him - if he wanted to - picking her up and carrying her outside his apartment, dumping her in the hallway and locking the door as he reentered the apartment.

It's like when I was at my previous barber during the O.J. Simpson trial and my barber was trying to argue that O.J. couldn't have killed two people at the same time. And I'm like, "Never underestimate the power of a professional athlete, particularly when you have a petrified spouse (ex-spouse Nicole Simpson) and a kid (Ronald Goldman) who probably can't fight."

Bold is such a no expletive point it makes no sense to mention. Of course if he played for another team we wouldn't care as much but the reality is he does. People like to find out more about stuff that is closer to them so what is the purpose of saying that comment or my other favorite what if it was your mom, sister, etc?

If Hardy paid her off why did he wait until after the bench trial? That faux conviction has done as much damage to his image as a real one would have. He only got probation the first time, so he wasn't getting any more than that after a jury trial, if convicted.

It just never made any sense to wait for the damage to be done and then settle.

In other words, if hardy would of signed with another team and the same events happened, in the same order (the appeal, expunge, photos, etc) would you all feel the same way about him?

I've never been one to witch hunt players for any wrong doings they've committed which they've been punished for. Its over, what am i going to be angry about? I honestly dont care, and Im getting tired of seeing new commentary on this every day.

He is a multi-millionaire that gets paid to play a game for a living. He is in a stable relationship and just had a child. His teammates like him and his team wants to extend him. I would say he is doing OK.

Pointing out inconsistencies and hypocrisies doesn't mean that people feel sorry him or pity him. Just because he doesn't jump through the hoops his detractors have laid out it doesn't make him a bad person.

Oh, I've never said a person can't change. As a Christian, the very message I preach and believe compels me to accept this basic truth.
I'm just saying that the decisions you make paint a picture of you - whether good or bad. And a person can start out making bad decisions then change and make good decisions. And the bad decisions simply become a part of your testimony and life story.

And as you say, if he hasn't changed, we'll find out eventually.
