Just don't get it, why sign another RB so they can be cut on Friday. The RB on the 53 will be Randle, McFadden, and Dunbar with Clutts as the FB. It isn't going to change no matter what any of us believe. We aren't going to carry 5 guys so getting Jackson or Christine or anyone else. It is a non-issue right now.

I am hoping they wise up and realize Dunbar is what he is and take a chance on a guy who might have a higher ceiling.

Domino's are falling and RB names are starting to pop up...

Stephen Jones master plan?

That would be a horrible plan and that is why I still harp on the RB position.

You should judge decisions based on the process and not necessarily the results in hindsight.

That is why I think letting Murray go is a huge mistake. If DMC runs wells that is great and I will be happy, but taking a strength and making it a huge question mark just for cap space is a bad decision.

Dallas won't sign anyone. They are so blinded by their ego that anyone can run behind this oline. Thus we don't need another runningback. Its going to hurt is in the end when MacFadden is injured and we are left with Randle and no one else. Then Randle fails to be consistent. If that happens you only have one person to blame - Jerry Jones.

RBBC works with the Patriots because their a passing team. We actually run the ball successfully and the league fears our running attack. I don't know why were trying to upgrade the RB position with scrubs? Cowboys has superbowl aspirations they would get a reliable runningback in here to compliment MacFadden.

As mush as I agree with you that not at least getting someone proven if not Murray is/was a mistake. This is my only rational I could think of that would make sense.

I do agree that we're going into the season with what we've got at this point. If we make a move for a running back, it will because the three we have are failing to get it done in the games.

This is the guy I would try to upgrade.

I would rather have a pure 3 down back then a specialty type guy.

Dunbar most likely will be used as the kick returner and screen guy. I truly don't know enough about Cristine to know if he could do those jobs as effectively but if so changing him for Dunbar would be fine, just don't believe the coaches see it the same way. I wanted to keep Murray but not at those prices. He has had one healthy year and it would not shock me in the least that he misses multiple games this year. Am I sold on Randle and McFadden, NO, ABSOLUTELY NO but hoping I am dead wrong on them and they set the league on fire. Still believe though that one of our 1st two picks next year will be a RB in the draft.

^this^ Its crazy that Dunbar has stuck around this long with such a small volume of work. Not that im doubting he can play... just havent seen enough to justify his roster spot. This HAS TO BE his last season to prove it.

Well Fred Jackson is no slouch, you know? He's been pretty underrated in my opinion. Even at his age.
He sucks. I watch pretty much every Bills game, and he had absolutely no burst last year.

It very well may turn out great. And I am liking what I see from DMC. Randle is what Randle is. A scatback. Dunbar never gets the ball............................................

But although it "may" turn out alright. Why would you want to risk that position , even for one year, in the next 2-3 years? This is a Super Bowl push......not a rebuilidng project. Or at least it should be!!!??

Especially when we know scoring TDs is not one of his specialties....I kid I kid....

But seriously, a lot of guys can catch screen pass and run draws

The Seahawks are doing exactly what a winning franchise does. While we sit here and watch our front office look like the Iraqi Defense Minister, Seattle is busy replacing a JAG (like Dunbar) with a proven leader that still has plenty on the tires.

Agreed. I've have loved what the front office has done to date. But I simply don't understand their love affair with Dunbar. Nor do I understand their seemingly reluctance to touch anyone over the age of 30. I get that you don't want to end up in a situation with aging players locked into long term deals.

But a guy like Jackson or any other vet that might be on the wrong side of 30 wouldn't be a long term commitment nor a cap crusher. And on a team that you think has a 2-3 year window around Romo's being able to stay effective, I don't see why they don't see a guy like Jackson (or any older vet) as a good solid option.

Not totally true. He had issues with Sumlin at A&M and clashed with him often. Sumlin suspended him for the SMU game. He also pissed off Sumlin when during the SMU game, Michael tweeted A&M needed to run the ball more. He also pissed some teams off at the combine with how he interviewed and he even totally skipped two scheduled interviews (maybe Dallas was one?).

Now certainly not serious legal stuff but the kid has been considered a knucklehead dating back to his time at A&M.

That isn't the whole story - sounds like a rival's talking point. Michael had no qualms with Sumlin, he disliked the position coach for his cockamamie 4 man RB rotation and did speak out against it. That got him in the dog house. If you are going to drop him in the grease for that so be it. Clearance McKinney, his position coach at A&M was promptly demoted from OC/RB coach to only RB coach and he's on the hot seat for his job now because he is so bad. Funny how Michael was the only back drafted from that rotation, and in the second round no less. I'm not a huge Michael fan but I do think he is better than all of our backs at this moment.

I don't think Dallas sees it as a rebuilding project but also not as a 1 year situation. I think being responsible in how you manage the cap is something you must consistently do for today and the future. I would have loved to have kept Murray but 8 mill a season was not going to happen. If I see any fault it was that I think had Dallas been more aggressive in their dealings with Murray they could have reached a long term deal for less than what he ended up getting in Philly.

That is my frustration. I imagined taking a strength and making it dominant.

Not taking a strength and making it average.

This team does not want a different running back. We are going in with what we have, I don't know if it will matter if Adrian Peterson was a free agent.

Sure sounds like it. LOL.

Regardless of who was to blame at A&M, he got suspended by Sumlin for the SMU game for a rules violation and then got in trouble again for tweeting during the game. Then he turned teams off with some of his interviews AND blew off two schedule interviews. If that's not a knucklehead, I don't know who is.

FWIW, I'd sign him too but I wouldn't expect him to become the starter. I don't see how anyone could suggest that a guy with two major leg injuries in college and has done little in the pros is suddenly better than anyone we have on the roster.

I agree here. I think our coaches are comfortable with the group we have. We can agree with them....or not. Really doesn't matter. I just think...by the sounds of things...that they're content going into the season with what we have.
