Granted Spotrac can be off, they had Church and Jefferson within $1MM of each other. So if Church was going to cost me $6MM and I could get Jefferson for $7MM, it's a no brainer.

Sad we were the best team in NFC last year and some are talking about rebuilding depressing day. You can say church , Wilcox , Carr, McClain suck all you want. But when you have no bodies to replace these guys it's depressing. It forces us to go for need in the draft. Trying to get cute with these COMP picks.

Stop being so melodramatic.

Let's start with the realization that despite having the best record in the NFC last year, it's debatable we were the best team in the NFC. The defense was weak.

Secondly, the guys you listed are average players. They might not suck but they aren't great either and when you start factoring in salary and the cap, you are faced with the reality that some of these guys are mediocre players that will get overpaid for their services.

Let's take Church. I have no issues with Church other than he was a heady player who was inconsistent for us at times and wasn't great against the pass. He now is costing a team $6MM. Honestly, I'd rather save the $6MM and let Heath play there or look for a cheaper FA at SS and then look to build through the draft. I don't think there's much of a difference in play between Church and say them signing Swearinger in a week or two.

Heath is 6'1" and weighs 212. Sounds like a good sized safety to me! Wilcox is 6'0" and 216. Church is 6'2" and 218. You're wringing your hands over 4-6 pounds? Come on, bruh.
