I'm one that would've done it in a heart beat. This is what New England does all the time, they trade players for 1st rounders and for some reason, they always have 2 first round picks in the draft.

There was a time we were offered decent picks for Romo and Austin but decided to stay the course. I don't mind doing the same with Bennett. It's easy to say "OMG, a 1st rounder!!" But when you put a face to that first rounder, he could easily be Bobby Carpenter. It's a gamble either way.

With Witten, I think Bennett would be expendable for that price. You don't get the opportunity to get a 1st rounder for a guy you KNOW will never be much more than a #2 on your team.

If there was any remote chance Bennett could surplant Witten, then that's one thing but it'll never happen as long as Witten is here.

That being said, I'm not at all upset we passed.
