they were discussing it on PFT
umm theres plenty of very young qbs that played well of late how about Daks rookie year LOL
Mahomes
Murray
Herbert
burrows before he got hurt
Tuas had few good moments
look at recent Sbs RW on his rookie deal went twice did he not?
older one eli on his rookie deal?
that just few there are many we see younger qbs step up with the rights coaches and talent around him
I said rumors, its being discussed and i can see validity in the premise..Most qbs are not worth the deals they are getting
cousins , carr , Garoppolo goff, wentz just to name few etc etc all so overpaid for the return..we arent talking 15mil like a rb gets we are talking 38mil+ like Watson got, wow that was worth it LOL
building total Teams through the cap not just 20% toward a QB that rarely pay off..
at some point markets turn down after they peak, i see them peaking now and owners will start saying no because of the available vets coming in cheaper..
Mahomes is the only one right now who is playing great.
Herbert and Murray have potential, but in terms of pure play, they leave a lot to be desired...same with Burrows and Tua....lets not count the chickens before all the eggs have hatched. there is a difference between actually being good and having potential to be good.
and I don't disagree on Cousins, Carr, Garappolo (post injury), Goff, Wentz, (two of whom went took their teams to superbowl). I would add Wilson, since its him that keeps their team competitive and in the playoffs....their defense sucks.
lets just assume $35 average (since Jerry started at 32, Dak countered with 40 and based on rumors it was about $35 average, with 5th year being in contention) and the cap will go back up to what it was after covid craap. current cap is 200, and if 2021 wasn't impacted by covid, it would have been around 210ish and 2022 around 220-225 based on how much the cap has gone up over the past few years..and contracts get reworked and extended....
and what about the QBs you names above...Murray, Herbert, Burrows...should they become top 10 QBs, then should their teams move on from them? unfortunatley its a QB driven league. they get over paid and over drafted.
I don't expect the NFL market to turn down. NBA hasn't. MLB hasn't.....and with expectations of a rise in TV money and expectations that cap will go up by 20-25% in 2024, the price will only go up......
