Might be the most undeserving player in the NFL.

He does nothing outstanding he can’t move. He has no arm strength. He throws pop flies. He has no emotion. The fans are not clamoring for him like most fan base is clamor for a back up quarterback.

The fan base wants to see the third string quarterback, not him playing/ he does nothing to help the organization moving forward.

There’s really no upside to him even being on the roster he’s completely overpaid.

He was awful in that game yesterday fumbling snaps, terrible decisions weak throws behind the receiver, missing wide open targets.

Not playing Trey Lance a guy that you gave up a fourth round pick for and just riding with a clipboard is beyond asinine. This is the time to see if this guy can actually be a serviceable roster player.

Rush is a guy that was released and played for the Giants and somehow found his way back to Dallas.

Again, he adds nothing to the football team.

If he throws five touchdowns on Thursday, it still means nothing he is neither of the present or the future.
now this is a hater post

Just a thought on why the Cowboys aren't playing Trey Lance.....

Maybe they really do see him as better than Rush. So maybe they are "hiding" him in order to make him cheaper to re-sign in the offseason and have him back up Dak in 2025?
Knowing the cowboys ability to evaluate talent, he might be best QB in the league. Would be very on brand that they have him third on the depth chart.

I know you stopped watching games when Dak got hurt.

If you still watched you’d know that the Cowboys were ahead when Turpin returned that kick.

Dak fans, I tell ya.
Cowboys won, Rush played solid, and they are genuinely angry about it.

Not just flustered, but flat out pissed off and flailing in anger.

It's truly remarkable to behold the Chernobyl like meltdown of the Church of Dak contingent

I don't know all the NFL backups, but is there anyone else who has as little athleticism as Rush does?
I don't know them all either, but if athleticism was all that mattered Peyton Manning would have never been much of a QB. Now, before you say I'm comparing Rush to Peyton, I'm not. I'm just saying you can't reduce the position to just that. Hell, Brock Purdy has nowhere near the athleticism Trey Lance has, but who did the 49ers keep?

Realistically, there is probably a reason we don't know a lot of the backups - they usually aren't worth more than that. Rush's lack of athleticism is obviously a big reason he has never been thought of as a candidate to start, but again, I don't think it's uncommon to have a less than inspiring backup QB. Many are just there with the hope they can keep the wheels from falling off if the starter is out.

Cooper isn't good, let's be honest.

That said, this is a Lance post. Have the Lance people watched him? Like, at all? He is late on most throws and can't read a defense. He isn't an NFL QB. At all. That's why SF dumped him and why he is third string in Dallas. He just sucks.

He's here to go 2-1 in a stretch where Dak is injured but returning, and we are good. There's no point if we're bad.

If Dak wasn't gone the rest of the season and Rush somehow got us in the playoff race and in the playoffs and Dak came back for it, Dak would just choke anyway. It's what he does. I'm not saying Rush is playoff capable. We need a new QB period. There's no point winning right now, but there'd be no point winning right now if Dak wasn't injured.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jerry tried to use the Cowboys getting a couple of wins to try and push a false sense of security. By insisting things will get better once Dak and the other injured players comes back healthy next season. Hence he'll say no real changes needs to be made to the roster. He'll try and sell hope to the fanbase again, for as long as he believes a small winning streak has some fans ready to trust in the current Cowboys roster again.

Lance should be playing the rest of the season. This team isn’t going on a run.
But what if they do and are 8-7 after the next 4 games?
I like winning.
Sadly, there is no guarantee that jerruh knows how to build something better.

Emotion, is football. You just have to be able to control it. Why do you think they constantly talk about it during the first quarter of any playoff game. Emotion is everything.
Interesting. Are you certain Cooper Rush does not play with controlled emotion?

It has to do with everything.
All quarterbacks do not exhibit emotions outwardly. Those, who have the ability of projecting a stoic expression, are not necessarily emotionless. And such demeanor is often self-enforced to enhance greater focus on the task at hand.

I agree with the last sentence of the OP. But he is the perfect backup. Knows the offense, can win games, demands nothing and is a team player. It's not his fault our QB1 has no consistency and the QB3 experiment failed. He just plays when being asked, keeps his mouth shut and the team seems to be willing to play for him.

What more of your backup QB could you want. That is a huge upside (at minimum the one you need) and his salary is fine. I don't care if they let him go or not, but as long as he was here he has done the job that was expected from him. Period. 6-3. End of story.
Have to agree with you Streif. He's not a starter, he's just a backup but he's pretty decent at it.

Not sure what game some of you fellows were watching yesterday. Rush is certainly not the most dynamic figure, but the stats - and the "W" - don't lie. Which of the numbers below are subject to any serious criticism? You'd take them every week.

Well it seems he can motivate his teammates.

Since he started the defense is playing better and better. Maybe they feel it makes sense again to give it all. With the other bum at qb you could sense the whole team lost their believe.

And he seems to be a real leader. Does not talk a lot. Leads by example. Has a natural autority that surrounds him.

Not like the other bum. Who talks a lot and cant be taken serious.
