Costa Cut

Wouldn't be surprised if he is brought back at some point.

I remember making a large list of players who I thought would be cut, and I was pretty much waived off. The cuts are coming, and if you're in that top 51 salaries, you're gonna be cut if they don't need you right now.

It shouldn't. Dude has been overhyped to say the least, but he is a serviceable back-up if the cost is low.

Exactly. People complain that we don't have solid backup play, and then scream that we need to cut every serviceable backup.

Sucks for him. First Brooke Hogan dumps him, then the Cowboys.

Brooke's thinking ... "Hmmmm, backup Center? No thanx !!!"

He is not serviceable at all,at least jerry has admitted his mistake but some guys won't give up.

Yes, he is. There's just some fans on this board who think we need to have all-star caliber backups.

You're right. He definitely is a quality backup. If we cut him, as it appears we will, he'll likely end up on another NFL roster as a backup for somewhat more than the league minimum. Makes sense to attempt to keep him for that.

Costa was horrible during the time he got to play. Absolutely horrible. Shotgun snaps were always adventure with Costa snapping. He came in cheap but has absolutely zero upside. I for one never got over us dumping Gurode coming off a prowbowl year for a second year undrafted free agent. Romo was running for his life that year. I'm so glad he's gone.

The fact we were trying to do a new deal frightens me to no end.

If they were asking him to take a pay cut under $1m to about $750k then I think he would be an asset backing up Fred. I don't like backups making more than the kicker though. That is my rule of thumb.

Wow some people will ride their sinking ship straight to the bottom.

By that, you mean the team who first made him a starter, then extended him, and then reportedly tried to renegotiate to keep him as a reserve?

Or are you referring to a half dozen guys on the internet who say things to get attention and then are confused when the team then does the opposite of what they'd recommend?

In today's society, everything is acceptable. Nothing shocks.

Except bringing back an OL the team likes, apparently.

Wonder why Costa and his agent didn't play ball, if the renegotiating report is true?
