I think it's certainly something the organization should look into.
And one point the author doesn't make is the dollars/sense aspect of taking a chance on the guy.
Look at the amount of money being spent in free agency - the numbers are staggering.
Those numbers are particulary large with regard to cornerbacks. Teams have little problem paying out in excess of $9 million for a good one.
A guy with Jones' baggage could be had at a drastically reduced rate.
Balancing out the PR backlash and the upside of getting a quality cornerback/punt returner at a significant discount, I think it's a risk worth taking.
