WEAKNESSES
Beat up this year thanks to poor protection. When he wasn't being sacked, he was being hit hard. Not as competitive a rusher in 2015. Sacks and usage in run game might be taking a toll. Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.

Ugh, more check downs.

RD4 would be perfect but I think Dallas might need to trade back into the bottom of RD3. Which I isn't bad

You're probably right. 4 is where he *should* go. He'll very possibly be overdrafted.

Typically, Jerry relies on old friends, former players and key 'advisors' (Lacewell!) in making decisions. I'm not aware of any connections to Mississippi St. There must be one.

Remember the sole reason we drafted Murray was because Barry Switzer? That one turned out alright, but that's the influence that friends of Jerry have on him

Does this mean Will McClay isnt really as powerful as we think? Hopefully he comes in and says something, because i do not want Prescott. He is not Russel Wilson, nor will he ever be. If we are going to take a QB in the 3rd, hackenberg is a better option. Thats just my opinon.

He's Cam Newton without the speed, athleticism, and arm strength.

So basically he's nothing at all like Cam Newton. I have a bad, bad feeling we will be wasting the next 4 years finding out exactly that.

Did you read that ourlads report on him?

Brugler Scouting Report: Grade 4th-5th

WEAKNESSES: Mechanical delivery and body motion – not a loose passer…ball placement (short, intermediate and deep) needs improved with too many throws below the waist or above the head of his target…too patient and needs to pull the trigger on tight-windowed throws when they’re there…locks onto targets and telegraphs passes, making throws he shouldn’tholds the ball too long and takes sacks he shouldn’t…will allow the play clock to get away from him…downfield touch and anticipation are improved, but still a work-in-progress…slight hitch in his delivery, holding the ball away from his body to he can load-and-fire…follows blocks well as a runner, but not a sudden or elusive athlete…second and third efforts lead to fumbles (18 career fumbles)…arrested for DUI (March 2016).

STRENGTHS: Well-built to hold up physically in the pocket – thick-boned with filled out muscle…enough arm strength to generate unforced velocity even if unable to step into his throws – spins a pretty ball…above average poise and rarely rattled, showing the same demeanor in clutch situations…improved understanding of how to use his eyes, working left to right and finding the open target…works his progressions and finds his second or third read…stays patient in the pocket and allow routes to develop…seasoned awareness with the ball in his hands, recognizing things quickly…quick memory and moves on from mistakes…bull of a runner with a heavy shoulder to lower his pads and deliver hits…natural running back instincts, reading his blocks and finishing with toughness – runs with the determination and contact balance to escape would-be tacklers…leadership traits that translate to a NFL locker room…highly respected by teammates and opponents alike (Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen: “I’d say he might be the best player I’ve ever coached.”)…three-time recipient of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, earning his degree in education psychology (Dec. 2014) and master’s in workforce leadership (Dec. 2015)…incredible SEC résumé with 33 career starts and 38 school records (15 career, 15 single-season and eight single game) – one of only four players in FBS history to throw for 70 touchdowns and rush for 40 touchdowns.

Those weaknesses frighten me to be honest!

Vernon Adams or the kid from Dartmouth they worked out are more likely to be Russell Wilson, and I doubt either of them ever throw a pass for the Cowboys.

The above is death in the NFL. I had no idea he coughed it up that much.

1st Rd - Bosa
2nd Rd - Henry
3rd Rd - Prescott

Wonderful.
I just gagged. That would be the absolute worst case scenario. Sad thing is, it's realistic. Audit it could screen be worse if you substitute Connor Cook for Dak

I love the assumption in this thread that Prescott could never develop because he isn't a first round pick, when he would be replacing a Pro Bowl QB who developed after going completely undrafted.

Its not because he is not a first round pick, it is because he sucks.

NFL.com draft profile has his NFL comparison as................wait for it....................Brett Hundley.............HAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAA

If we draft him before the 4th round (and even that is being way generous), I will seriously question this team's desire to actually win games.

no more assuming than we can strike gold again with a non elite prospect. The simple FACT is you have a better chance of hitting on a QB the higher round you pick him in.
