I hate this for Schottenheimer, just as one human being to another human being. This should be a time of great excitement and optimism and feeling of accomplishment. Instead, this is a time when he may have some of that stirring inside him, but competing with that is the knowledge that he's about as unpopular a head coach as can be found... glass half-full, it makes it that much easier to impress eventually, but it's more like quarter-full, knowing fully that the Joneses have planned for a long time now to let 2025 be the year of famine... of salary cap hell.
This is going to be hard, if not crushing, in all likelihood. I hope I'm wrong. Of course. I really, really do. He's too nice a guy.
