Only in eyes of the fans on here.
I have not heard anything from any fans in the area I am in. And I am in the middle of the DFW metroplex. Except from one person, and he hates everything in life except a few things from the 70's he keeps repeating over and over. I think he has dementia.
Hey, sounds like he would fit in here.
lol

Everyone is laughing except the homers who are happy with whatever Jerral does

You speak common sense . Let the guy conduct camp pre season his first year before you rip him .

He will actually return the run game so Dak can play off it and not ask him
To toss 45 passes .

Expect a RB to be drafted to complement Dowdle in one of the first three rounds.
The only think I do like is that we'll probably take the ball out of Dak"s hand and run more. Knowing Jerry though he's probably happy with our current rbs. And with all these young qbs coming up it won't make a difference
This team has too many holes and has an aging and regressing qb and now we have a hc that nobody wanted. Somebody who's been mediocre his whole career. We're the third best team in the division and its not going to get better anytime soon

Would be awesome if the media asked some tough questions at the presser. But they won’t.

As an outsider, I think this is actually a good call. Kudos Jerry. (Not even a Brer Briarpatch comment, actually mean it.)

1. You had a good team in 2023 and were expected to be very competitive this year. Things didn't work out in 2024, but no reason to blow things up.

2. Dak is not Tom Brady (but who is). But he's an above average QB. And there are plenty of teams who would take him as an upgrade.

2. continued. Dak got the big contract because that was his free market value at that time. Agents are good at figuring out value and teams are good at figuring out the market value also. Yes, even if it never enters a formal auction stage. There's all kinds of illegal tampering going on, even just to get insights on price points. Smart people are looking at this stuff. "Cheap Jerry" didn't just do the big contract for no reason as a giveaway. (It's like buying mineral rights in the last undeveloped parcel of the sweet spot of Mountrail County, ND. You gotta pay for prestige property.) It was that or Dak walked. He had the value. Kirk Cousins has done the same over the years.

2. even more continued. Given he is a decent QB AND you are stuck with his contract AND cutting him would accelerate several years of cap hit AND you're not positioned for that...it makes all the sense in the world to stick with Dak for another couple years AND to keep a similar offensive system. Doesn't stop from drafting new QBs as low priced competition or insurance. But you won't be in the high end FA market for QBs. You already have that on staff. You don't have the money for two. So...stick with Dak and make it work.

3. Given all the above, sticking with known commodities makes all kinds of sense. Schotty will be fine. He has loads of experience (not just the continuity, but he's an experienced guy around the league). And if he has any of the genes of his dad, he'll be an above average coach, no problem.

4. Don't default to blowing things up and swinging for the fences. Super Bowl or bust. That is what the Browns have done for decades. Just try to get better iteratively. Occasionally more major changes are needed. But not as often as the linving-in-the-moment fans want.

Anyone who would take this job should be drug tested. I hope there is something in the contract where we can get out of this if he was on PCP when he accepted.

And once again you misread what I posted.
The slightest bit of anything positive you call a true fan a homer.
Have you truly read any of my post. No you have not.

LOL back at ya, with this as well.

For those of you that have had enough of the circus Im applauding you for taking that very hard step to dump your favorite team. It's not easy and that shows STRENGTH! Highly recommend trying fantasy football where you tend to watch teams and players across the league. You would be surprised how fun it is and how you learn more about other players and teams.
I still come on this forum for the entertainment and to point out the truths that people tend to either overlook or just don't want to look at.
