If the top tier guys get passed by....are they really top tier guys?

Just saying...
There’s always guys that are considered quality starters or better that demand too much and miss out on the big deals at the beginning of FA.

Aldon also took years off from football and wasn't in NFL shape. This guy was.....not really a fair comparison IMO.
Sure it’s a fair comparison. Aldon wasn’t just sitting around on his couch that whole time. And shouldn’t he have had fresher legs with less wear because of the time off he had?

I get it but a quality starter is not a top tier guy.

I get what you are saying but the true top tier guys go fast, the second tier guys are quality starters but not elite....they expect to get paid like a star but aren't there...

Did you see how much damage he did to his body with alcohol? I mean if you want to compare the two that's fine I guess that says more about this guy that he even compares to the production that Aldon mostly did in his first few weeks last season.

See to me I keep Gregory in the same role and sign a starter. Makes my defensive line that much better.

Basham was a starter for 9 games last year and now you are going to have him in a rotational role with Gregory starting and I think they believe he is ready. What has stopped Gregory mostly has been the suspensions. With the new rules it seems like we will not have those issues moving forward.

I miss the old no cap days where you could throw money at every issue but that is not today's NFL.

Michael Gehlken was correct about Basham, he seems to be indicating the next thing on the menu is a veteran starting safety,

Where do Cowboys stand from a salary-cap standpoint after these moves? It's best to answer that qualitatively: They have plenty space to get done what the need to, which includes signing a veteran starter at safety. In due time.

LOL.

This is the year we sign bargain bin guys early?

They are just signing roster bodies. In no world can the Jones boys think that these guys make us much better on defense.

Basham PFF scores:
2020:64.6
2019:73.1
2018: 69.1

That's a very respectable rotational player for very modest price. Good signing.

This group may be worse than last year.
Get a grip, having Jerry Jones as your GM is good for 4 to 8 wins alone, not to mention the addition by subtraction when we cut LP Ladouceur

We're on track for yet another 16-0 season and a Super Bowl
