If you get to excited about any transactions around here you get shot down hard core when they dont work out...lol
I dont care what the masses feel, I like the attention that has been given to the major areas of concern, and if the names arent recognized by the casual fan, then they are dismissed like trash FA in the past.
Cant say I blame the negativity, I havent been impressed with past FA signings,, I wasnt doing back flips over McCoy and Poe last year, but many were.
I look at every year differently and willing to give a clean slate, and I rarely applaud the moves of this FO, but I really believe that Quinn walked in to Jerrys World and demanded his way, and Jerry and Stephen
gave him some credentials early,, much quicker than they ever did with Marinelli, and you would have figured that Marinelli would have gave them so much shell shock that they would never hand over evaluation
and precedence in opinion to a first year DC, but they did.
The movement is clearly a Quinn and McClay hand shake and acknowledgement.

My thing is I didn't crap on the signings as I was accused by another poster but simply pointed out, like many free agent signings, it's a wait and see kind of approach....especially for guys that had quality stats but also had difficult injuries.

No use arguing with this guy. As soon as you prove him wrong about something he'll change the narrative. He does it all the time.

Sort of like when you claim you are Captain Positive yet crap on people with the immature name calling when they dare think for themselves?

They sign a couple good DT,s? I must have missed it.Thanks for keeping me updated on those solid players.
We have extremely high hopes for our newly signed DTs that nearly nobody in this forum has ever heard about before.. except for the posters that are you know,, well informed around here.

Why not? There was a time when Ha Ha was graded out as one of the best safeties in the league. There was a time he was one of the best.
I dont remember the story quite that way.
It was almost the perfect environment for a safety named Ha Ha, coming to a safety starved team.
Like pretending to give a dehydrated, water deprived dying man a drink in the dessert.
Ha Ha,, Im your new safety, here is some water,, oops, I spilled it, so sorry.

There was but then the Packers spoke openly about his regression as they traded him away. Kazees career doesn’t not share that projection at the moment.

Kazee has NEVER been close to one of the best safeties in football....I'm not arguing for how good Ha Ha is...to me Kazee just represents the same thing. A guy who had potential starting off and has gotten worse since. Seems to be bad in coverage though that's from Falcons fans I haven't seen enough of him to say that.

I don’t think I’d lump these three guys in the same category.

Agreed. Iloka and Clinton-Dix's careers were already trending down when Dallas signed them. Neal and Kazee are still in their prime; albeit with injury concerns; and the Kearse signing was for depth and special teams purposes.

I said they signed a couple of defensive linemen, not DT’s. So quit your damn lying.

True, but Kazee is a guy that can make plays. He's basically a corner that's forced to play safety due to his lack of speed. He's coming here likely to be a placeholder starter until a draft pick is ready. And having a backup/nickel back that led the NFL in interceptions in 2018-19 is pretty good depth.

What I'm saying is I like the signing of Kazee; so long as the Cowboys aren't counting on him to be a long term answer since he's likely not.

Again though these two are on two different trajectories in their careers when we signed them and that’s why this signing is a very different approach. Ha Ha isn’t even in the league anymore.

He is coming here because we desperately seek any DBs that can cover a moving object.

How so? Ha Ha with the Bears graded out well. He was a starter before he got to Dallas. This is the same point in Kazee's career that Ha Ha was at last year. Ha Ha is out of the league now but the Cowboys signed him thinking he was a legit starter.

I can't discuss the type of player Kazee is because I haven't seen enough of him. But based on what I've read he seems to have issues in coverage.

I have no issue with the signing. I'm just saying this is just like how they've always handled the position. Before him it was Ha Ha. Before Ha ha was Iloka. Before that it was......Sensabaugh and before that was Hamlin......

I think it's a little different because other than his health last year, there have been no issues with Kazee. There were definitely questions about Dix's play, which is the reason for his relatively low cost. The only reason for Kazee's low price was because he's coming off injury. Now, that's a big reason and he could end up not getting back to form this year. That's the risk this team takes in seeking out bargain-bin types.
