Cowboys, Titans reportedly engaged in Pacman talks *Merge*

Here is your problem. You cant go into the season, even with Jones, just getting a second or third round corner so they can play the 4th corner spot because you have Jones.

#1 you don't know that you have him, at all. Even if he does get reinstated that doesn't automatically mean the dude will be smart enough to not get himself fired.

So if you don't still go CB in round 1, in order to make sure you've got a guy who can immediately move into that 3 spot in case Jones gets the boot then you're right where you are right now. VERY thin.

Even if you get Pacman the Boys are still going to need a first round cornerback to make sure you cover yourself. You simply CAN NOT go into the season relying on the idea that Jones won't get into trouble.

So even with Pacman I still don't believe we go get Dmac. The chance will go up, to some degree, but it still won't happen.
why do we have to get a cb in round 1 to "make sure" he can step right in to play nickelback assuming pacman got in trouble again?

All I will say to this, if it comes true, is

WOW!!!

Somebody had to do it. :D

If that's the way it is. That the way it'll be. I like giving the guy another chance personally. And he could be a helluva player for us in the long run.

Somebody good with Adobe, paint the star on him.

That would be Awesome. I thought it would take at least a 4th.
I think the Titans are tired of dealing with him.

i hope this is/will come true. that would mean jerry will def. go get mcfadden.

Rampage,

I agree with you. I believe this is setting the stage for a move up with the 2 #1 picks.

Remember Michael Smith of ESPN said a week or so ago that a move up by the Cowboys would not cost us, (include), MB3. I found that to be an interesting report and one that received suprisingly little attention on the board.

I have a feeling that the old "wildcatter" in Jerry is going to show itself this off-season. He feels we are close and he is going for it.

I hope it's not true, but if it is ... Long Live the Cowboys.: :D

thanks not as good as yours though, i think we would be RUNDMC bound:bow:

Putting behavior aside for the moment, if Jerry Jones is successful in getting PacMan Jones and Darren McFadden or (even if we don't trade) any combination of Mario Manningham/Early Doucet/Malcolm Kelly-Cason/Rodgers-Cromartie/Jenkins-Charles/Rice/Johnson this team (assuming, of course, this team stays healthy) could be unstoppable next year.

Jerry has a pretty good idea of when Goodell is going to reinstate Pacman.

You can bet there's a lot that's been going on behind the scenes between the league office, the Titans, (who want to move Pacman), and Jerry that we don't know about.

Here is the issue what if we make this trade do not draft a cb and Roger tales Pacman he has to wait until before the season and he misses training camp then what we are screwed

This should not even be consider to after the draft it is stupid on Jerry's part on so many levels

I hope it is not true I rather puke than add him and no I do not care how talented he is

Just read on ES that it's a 6th or 7th.

:laugh2:

Now ES knows the details of this?

Well there's some solid gold confirmation.

Even if we get PacMan I still think we should take the best corner on the board at #22. CB is the achilles heel of our defense and probably our whole team, if we are 4 deep with quality at the position we will be set.

It's not worth it still to trade up for McFadden imo, Barber is more than enough all we need is a decent back up, plus it's not really that smart to burn a lot of money on a RB in the top 5 IMO cap wise.(especially when you already have a Pro Bowl RB)

If you have Pacman IMO it is a waste to spend a 1st round pick on a CB (especially not the 22nd). Most teams don't have 2 good CBs, much less 3 that not only can start but are very good. With Pacman the Cowboys could get away with drafting an extra CB in the 2nd, 3rd or later rounds.

I think if the Cowboys get Pacman and don't move up to get DMac, they really should spend that #22 on a wide receiver. It would be a bigger need than CB or backup RB.

I have no issue with that. Newman will be 30 this year I believe, and we could groom a young CB...

That being said, it will be hard to root for Pacman if this deal were to go down...

If we do get Pacman then I think we'll take a WR at #22, CB at #28 and RB in the 2nd. Maybe switch first picks if Cromartie is still there at #22 but I doubt it.

I also doubt we move up to get Mcfadden if Barber is staying on this team..

This Pacman rumor has some life though. *Fingers crossed*
